DCR-2650 Blinking Light

I'm having a problem with my DCR-2650.

I got it a week or so ago and it seemed to work fine. This morning I noticed one of my recordings from last night had a 20 minute blank spot in the middle of a 1 hour show.

While troubleshooting the problem I noticed the "Cable" indicator on the front of the unit was blinking on and off. It stays steady for several minutes and does the blinking thing for about 15 seconds, and then starts the cycle over again. I tried watching a show during the blinking episode and I didn't notice any loss of the show.

I reloaded the firmware just to eliminate that.
I'm using the latest version that is posted on ther website.

I also tried different cable connections and PCs.

Anyone have any ideas as to what my problem is and how I might correct it.

Do you use a tuning adaptor?

The blinking thing could be nothing... it might just indicate that the card is updating something. Not sure if mine blinks or not, since it's in a storage closet.

Also, there's a web-based status page that you can access. I'm guessing that you can reach it at 192.168.165.25, but only from the PC connected to the tuner. It shows status and has some other useful things including a logfile.
