I tried disabling custom menus and still no luck. I can confirm that Playon worked with Gemstone .014.

I have my server running Diamond with Playon and verified that still works while my client is running Gemstone .017 and does not.

Playon is now working in Gemstone 1.0173.

You may need to revert to the default Sagetv7.xml file then re-enable Gemstone and it should work.

I just did a clean install of sage 7. I uninstalled sage 7 , I deleted the folder. I installed sage 7.1.9, installed the gemstone plugin then the playon plugin and I get no videos. I installed the latest playon version today.

Steps I followed,

1. Install 7.1.9 Client
2. Update to lastest STV, there are several and install the weather plugin when prompted along the way (Setup/Detailed Setup/Advanced/Check for STV update)
3. Install Playon Plugin and reload the UI when prompted.
4. Install the latest Gemstone Plugin (it will install the 1.0173 STV and the 1.071 API) and reload the UI when prompted.
5. From the Main Menu go to Gemstone and then "Load Gemstone UI" and say "yes" to switch to the Gemstone.xml application package.
6. Restart the Client. (not necessary)
7. Go to Online/More Online Services/Netflix and then pick "Netlfix Main" then "New Arrivals" then "New Releases".

You will still need to add the Playon menu items using the Menu Manager to make that work how you want.

I can only test Netflix in Canada so not sure about the other Playon content.

Here is a screen shot of it working for me,

Did the update to the latest version and checked Playon via the Online menu and it worked right out of the gate. Added the Playon menu item to my top level and all is well.

Nice....

Thanks for the walk through. My playon and hulu now all work except for my Netflix queue. It still shows no videos.

EDIT: If I go through the online options and pick netflix and then netflix main and then my queue, the queue shows. If I just click online options, netflix queue there are no videos.

I have no queue to test in Canada as Netflix doesn't support it up here. So I'm not much help with that part.

Can you browse the Netflix content using the other Netflix menu options ok?

Yes the other menu options work and I can access my queue by going the long route, but at least it work. Now that I know I can access the instant queue by going to online, More online services, Netflix, Netflix Main, Instant Queue, I can play the videos I added to the instant queue using my computer.

I'm not a programmer, but it seems to make sense that if someone were to exchange the programming code from the way I access it above, it seems that that code could be replacing the code at the Playon, Netflix Queue to get at the instant queue with just 2 clicks instead of 5.

I am really not going to complain about it because it is now usable. If someone feels it is easy enough to change the code, I am pretty sure it will be done but now that I can use Gemstone and have full functionality and pretty good WAF, I am happy.

Thanks for all your help!

Time to get unblock-us.com so that you can get US Netflix and pretty much all other US streaming services, not to mention BBC iPlayer.

Great work, I have Playon working perfectly, without resorting to tweaks. Netflix instant queue is fine and the whole Playon experience seems faster than before.

Playon, however, is buried in the "online" menus but I guess that gives me something to do; I liked it on the main menu.

I also live in Canada but I use Unblockus.

You will need to use Copy mode in the Menu Manager to add the Playon menu items to the custom Gemstone menu.

Can you elaborate? I found the Menu Manager, but what do you mean by "Copy" mode?

Thanks,
-Randy

You can check out the ADM threads and wiki for more details but basically in Menu Manager hit options...select Copy Mode and then select Main Menu...this will take you to the sage main menu where you can navigate to the menu you want to copy from playon...press options and select to copy the item.
