YouTube online videos not working! (older: Jan 2013)

I like to teach sagetv to play youtube playlists

for example:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA46FF5F7ADDEDDB9

I found how to get the list via API

https://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/...&start-index=1

but how to configure that sagetv will play whole playlist?

As a minor side note, I discovered that the links still do not work if you use

Search->Online Videos->Search Youtube Keywords

But it does work if you use

Online->Youtube Videos

I guess it's been implemented twice when they originally built it - and since it is possible to get it working people can just avoid using the alternate entry point.

Thanks again for your time and effort - I was actually working on a plugin to get Youtube working, so I know it is not a simple task :-)

I originally wrote it, both paths go to the same YouTube search menu, and the searches all worked no matter what path I tried just now.

If you were working on a plugin, maybe it is still active and changing something in your STV?

Hmm... I tried showing my wife that Youtube is working again. But, It's showing the below error still. The update only worked for a day for me.

The media download failed.
Error: The requested media file was not found on the server.

Current STV file set version: 2012100501, MD5 prefix:2007f2
Online Videos version: 2011080501, MD5 prefix 2e0f95

Your Online Video Version is old. I just tried it works fine.

I had a feeling that was the problem; which is why I posted the version to online videos.

The strange thing is that it was working for me temporarily. I had looked for updated files to download manually, but the oldest ones on the forum were from 2011.

I just sent you a PM (to email me the updated files). Until I can figure out why they aren't getting updated with the STV update.

You files fixed the problem instantly. I am curious though what could prevent the files from downloading automatically; or even stranger.. for it to work temporarily (which I hadn't checked to see if the files were downlaoded or not at that time).

Is there another place where they can get stored? Maybe someone who knows better on how these get updated could chime in. The only thing I know is that when I go to the STV Main Menu, they get created. In my case, they kept getting created with the old ones.

If I remember correctly I had deleted mine and then started Sage ... that recreated them.

Hmm... that may be the case, my plugin is also using the 'keyboard' to enter search text for some services, so it may be affecting things. I'll try uninstalling my plugin and perform the test again.

Edit: Hmm... it seems that I am unable to reproduce the error, so it must have been a reflection from a weather balloon or something like that :-)

Same here. The clips are listed fine but I get "The media download failed. Error: The requested media was not found on the server" message.

Hmm... I wonder if it was a brief outage. My household uses it day and night. In fact, my daughter was watching youtube videos this morning.
