HD PVR not in list of capture devices
I'm running V7.1.8.256 on a W7 machine. I've had earlier versions working with my HD PVR, but recently upgraded to V7.1.8.256. For some reason the IR Blaster stopped working with SageTv. I tested it with the Blaster Configuration and it worked fine. So, I removed the HD PVR as a capture device so as to re-configure the capture devices. It now does not show up in the list. The HD PVR works with TotalMedia Extreme.
What can be done to get this thing recognized, again? Thanks. |

You could try:
1) stop sageTV service 2) reinstall HDPVR driver 3) reboot Give it a shot. |

To change channels, I have to use an irremote.ini (found in C://Windows) file from 4 years ago - seriously. It's on this site somewhere - if I can find it for you I will place the link here - it's around 24.5k in size. You can load drivers to the HD PVR manually via computer/right click/properties/device manager/sound, video and game controllers/HD PVR/right click/properties/driver/update driver. UPDATE: the irremote.ini file I use is in post #3 at this link: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...t=irremote.ini and is called: basic_irremote-ini_New_Remote.zip no matter what drivers cause my Hauppauge 45 button remote to stop working, re-inserting this file over the newer version makes is start again. Also, make sure your motherboard chipset drivers are up to date and recognizing the USB port that the HD PVR is plugged into. I've had that happen, where the chipset drivers get corrupted and don't see USB devices. I believe the one that always works on my W7 32 bit system is 1.5.7.0, downloadable from the Hauppauge site. Also, Hauppauge support is fairly good if you call them.

I'm on the way to resolving this myself. I did an uninstall/re-install. I made sure to delete the program folder after the uninstall.
Going thru the setup and channel list is such a cumbersome experience. I have a DISH set top box and while going thru the channel list to remove the analog stations in favor of the HD stations, sometimes the analog station would "deselect" and other times it would remove both the HD and analog stations from the list. Once I get everything the way I want it, I'll make a backup of the configuration file. |
