Cable Card find

You may already know this, but....

I had a DCR-2650 attached to my Sagetv. Activated it through Comcast, and it worked great for about 2 months. Then I noticed it seemed to be getting the "No Signal" issue, and I thought there was a hardware problem (Didn't look in here until just today). Sometime during that time I also saw a decent price on the HDHR-Prime3US, so I ordered one of those also. Once I saw the No Signal issue, I decided to try an experiment, and took out the DCR-2650. I pulled the paired CableCard from the DCR-2650, and plugged it into the HDHR-Prime. Didn't call Comcast, or do anything else. And, Viola, the CC worked just fine. So, apparently the CC is hot swappable. At least in this one instance, anyway. As always, YMMV.

It might work until it gets a hit from Comcast. I seem to recall getting a cablecard from them that worked for a few days in a new Tivo, without ever calling them, but then overnight one night, it just started giving blank screens.

My Charter CC can be moved from device to device, they never sent the signal to it that married it to my Ceton.
