Adding 2nd Tuner to PVR-350

I know this stuff has been mentioned in many prior threads, but I was hoping to maybe get it all together into a more concrete answer.

I currently have a PVR-350 & I use the TV-Out.

I would like to add another tuner (recording only).

Are there any restrictions to what cards I can / can't use with an existing PVR-350?

Are there any that work better / worse than others with the PVR-350?

Of the compatible ones, are there any that are better recording quality than others?

Thanx for all your advice!

I have verified that the type 16 250's now work the 350 using the latest Hauppauge Beta Drivers for IVAC15/16 Combination for me. I have not seen anyone stating otherwise.

I also have a 350 and have been considering using the e-home wonder card. More than one person has proclaimed their success with this inexpensive card and the quality is supposed to equal the PVR-250.

I can tell you from personal experience that the one thing you don't want to do is to add a second pvr-350. When I did that I had all kinds of problems with partial and imcompletely recorded shows. Sage says that the problem is using the TV Out on the pvr-350, so I am waiting until they get that fixed to re-enable my 2nd pvr-350.

I have a 350 with TV-out OSD working and recently added an ATI e-Home and it's working great. In fact I haven't been able to tell the difference between what's been recorded with the 350 and what's been recorded with the e-home.

The only hitch is the little registry trick to get Sage to properly use the card. See this thread:
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ighlight=Ehome

As an FYI, I'm even using the cheaper non/FM Tuner version of the e-home.

Good luck.
