Use of composite input on PVR-250

My wife found some really old home videos on VHS that she would like me to capture in digital for so she can use them.

I need to get the VHS into some digital format, mpeg2 works, the she will use Sony Movie Studio to do the rest.

To get this working I went into sage and changed the input on the PVR250 to composite, hooked up the VCR to this input, changed the channel lineup to "No..." and it created a single channel named composite.

When I turn on the VCR, I have verified it is working out the line-out, and select the composite channel (on the EPG it shows up as channel 1), I don't get anything. I was expecting to see the video come up.

I tried composite, composite_2 and don't get anything.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Is the back connection composite, or composite_2?
