best picture quality
Hey guys,
I've been using Sage for quite awhile and love it. (Built a HTPC and bought a new TV just to use it) Now with the new drivers out to use both a pvr250 and 350, I'm ready to finally set it up and use it properly without "fiddling" with it all the time. My question is, I've been using the 350's TV OUT all the time. I like the picture quality it gives. Now I'd like to try out a diff approach. I have my Toshiba hooked up to my TV via the DVI port. Sage works fine through it, but tv and video looks blocky. What settings should I play with and what decoder should I be using for best pic quality for all my diff videos (mpeg, divx....) The only reason I see not to use the 350's output is because I can't watch my diff files. Sorry for the long winded post. Thanks Phanotm PS: Anyone know where to find a good vga to component adapter in mississauga/toronto. Or which one to order online. There are so many

First the easy question, for VGA to Component, you need more than just an adapter, you need a transcoder, and there are only two I know of that are worth buying.
Audio Authority http://www.audioauthority.com/aaccon.../9a60detc.html or Key Digital http://www.keydigital.com/Itemdesc.asp?CartId={F0C3FE1CEVEREST-D0DE-49F9-AE15-7E136A3C5BEA}&ic=KDVTCA3&Tp= One exception is if you have a Radeon, and then you want one of these: http://buy.ati.com/shopati/product.a...c=&country=USA For your other questions, more info on your setup would help, but generic answers are: 1) Try upping your recording quality, 3Gb/hr is usually pretty good 2) Try adjusting the capture brightness contrass (see the link in my sig) 3) Try increasing the resolution you feed the TV (you may need powerstrip). |
