Comskip problem

Sorry, I've never used comskip, plugin or otherwise. Is there anything I need to add to Phoenix to get it working? I thought it was built in. But is that just the skipping when it hits edl marks, and I still need a plugin to make them?

I enabled comskip in the playback options, but nothing ever happens and I don't see any marks on the timebar.

Phoenix supports using comskip files, but it does not create the comskip files. You'll need to install tmiranda's comskip plugin, and configure it, and verify that it is working, and then there is nothing you need to do in Phoenix.

If you're using phoenix make sure you install CommercialDetector from the "General" section of the plugin manager and not the "UI Mod" section.

I installed commercial detector, and I can see on my time bar that there are marks. And I went under video options and automatic comskip is enabled. But when it hits one of those spaces in the time bar, nothing happens. Did I miss something?

Okay, wasn't at first, now it seems to have kicked in! Thanks for the help.

Actually, it doesn't kick in if I just select a recording. I read the tip about going back out, and selecting now playing. Then it kicks in for me, but never just with a selected recording. Is there in way around that, or is that just how it is for now?
