I believe that would be possible but you could also just use a programable remote or your TV's remote or whatever you want
the hauppauge remote should not need the remote control software or ir reciever to work with sage

there's a good long topic on it that should help answer all your questions

Is it too large to add as an attachment to your post? This will use the forum's software/webspace to host the file. You may only see the option to add an attachment when you use the "post reply" button just underneath the last post. I don't believe you can do attachments if you use the Quick reply method. I never use the quick reply myself.

You will also have to set the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\hauppauge\IR
Dword:I2CType a value of 19(decimal)
Attached Files
File Type: zip 2_41_22165_ir32-1.zip (323.6 KB, 737 views)

Note for others: the registry key mentioned above is for overriding the selection of the I2C provider (whatever that is) for the IR receiver/software when there is more than one (multiple cards installed). If you aren't using that key now & have no problems, I doubt you will need to start doing so.

Edit: The latest version of the IR software can be found here.
