Fanart and playback troubles after upgrading Phoenix
I think all I changed was upgrading Phoenix to the newest version. After the upgrade, all fanart and all playback works fine on my server, but all the fanart and playback of ripped TV shows (VIDEO_TS format) were not working on any of my extenders.
After the upgrade, I ripped some new episodes and the fanart for them shows up on the extenders, but not the server. So, after some poking around I saw that the server is pointing to the location I've always used for fanart (SageTV home/STVs/Phoenix/fanart); while the extenders are pointing to userdata/Phoenix/fanart. I used the BMT web interface to change the location for fanart to SageTV home/STVs/Phoenix/fanart and fanart is back on all the extenders. Ripped movies (blu-rays) play fine, but TV shows go to a black screen when the episode is selected. Any thoughts on how to fix the playback and what is "best practices" for fanart (SageTV home.... vs userdata)? Thanks. |

I don't know about the playback issues... but Phoenix has been using userdata for several months now. We moved all user files (fanart, configuration, etc) out of the core Phoenix area and put it under the userdata area so that it would not be overwritted/deleted on phoenix updates.

Thanks for the feedback. As I was updating I must have missed the change.
I copied all the fanart from the sage core directory to the userdata directory. But now can't figure out how to get all the extenders and server to point there. BMT shows the user data directory and two of my extenders show the user data directory (when I look in the pheonix configuration options using the GUI). However, my third extender and the server are pointing to the core directory. I cannot figure out how to sync them all up since I cannot see how to enter a / or a : on the panel in the phoenix gui. Is there a way to sync them using the BMT web interface? |

Well I got the server squared away by updating the fanart director in BMT to be the core and then updaing it back to userdata.
I still have one extender pointing to the core. How can a directory be entered in Pheonix GUI using a panel without / and : as options. I know I'm missing something obvious..... |

Restarting the extender was not working, but when I unplugged it and let it cold boot it synced up and now it points to the userdata fanart folder.
So, looks like it is all squared away. Thanks for your help Mr. metadata! |
