There is an invisible part of the 'marker' which covers the top half of the (clickable) timeline -- click on the lower half to be able to move it (I have let mlbdude know of this problem)

I already answered both questions when you posted this as a seaparate thread... I don't know why you deleted that thread & thus your answers.

Anway, for you & anyone else who may be missing the time marker: make sure the "STVs\OriginalV2" directory under your "SageTV" dir contains "time_marker.png" from the MlbDude2 installation.

I did see your response. I deleted the original because I intended to post it in this thread as opposed to the general forum category.

Thank you again for your response.

Maybe this has already been reported and I looked over it, but, when the Music Player is in File System mode, there is no Visualizations button to take you back to what's currently playing. Also, the visualizations arent working correctly for me (only in File System mode). It's like the screen only updates whenever the track changes, or if I pull up the menu options. The File System mode is great otherwise. Very important to me because of how I like to have my library set up. Only other thing I can think of to improve the File System mode is to have a List View option like with the movie library.

I have not found the file "time_marker.png" on my system.
How can I get it?

Thanks, jan

It looks like it was left out of the 1.8.7 MlbDude2 zip download, but it is in the 1.8.5 zip file. mlbdude will probably correct that in his next update, but for now I'll help out & upload it in this post. (For all I know it was already uploaded in an earlier message, but I don't see it.)

Apparently a lot of people miss this small point in the very first post of this thread since it is hiding at the end of all the revision info. Anyway, here's what it said:

Quote:
Due to the size of the archive with images and all, I will be uploading a main archive then smaller update archives between major releases. So to run the latest version, download and install the MlbDude2_1_8_5.zip file then the latest update and overwrite the STV.

Apparently, version 1.8.7 is actually a complete download, except for only that time_marker.png file, rather than simply an updated STV file. The zip for 1.8.7 is 7.8 MB, while 1.8.5 is 6 MB. I imagine that means 1.8.7 is intended to be a stand-alone download. I figure the download instructions probably just weren't fully updated.

That is why I uploaded just that missing graphic rather than suggesting everyone missing it download the full 1.8.5 zip file instead.

And, if you pay attention to the instructions at the beginning of the first post, you will see that it is considered a full download instead of a simple update file:

Ya, I think mlbdude may have tried to get everything into 1.8.7, but when I downloaded it there were several pieces missing. I had to go back and get 1.8.5 and then unzip 1.8.7 over the top of it to get everything working (just as his instructions indicated).

BTW: The link to mlbdude's web site (just above the link for downloading MlbdDude2 STV 1.8.7 in the first post) does still take you to the page for 1.8.5 (or, at least until he changes it).

what else was missing? I actually just tried to download 1.8.5 from mlbdude's website and the link was dead

It was a few weeks ago when I got it, but ya, looks like the link is dead now so he must have changed things.

I don't remember exactly what else was missing, just that some other stuff wasn't working right until I went back and got 1.8.5.

Maybe he did get everything all in 1.8.7 now and just forgot the pointer image then.

He's not currently online much, if any, due to the move, but the MlbDude2 STV site is hosted by Frey. I'm only guessing, but I would imagine that 1.8.5 was removed at some point since 1.8.7 is the latest full download. Until he's back & updates any downloads, simply let us know if there are any other files that are missing. Of course, that brings up the problem of how to know they are missing if you don't have them... everyone who is not here today, please raise your hands.

Edit: Hmmm... the post I replied to disappeared while I was typing this. Oh well.

Edit2: I just looked at my copies of the 1.8.5 & the 1.8.7 zip files. The above mentioned time marker is the only image I see missing.

As I said, it was quite a while ago when I downloaded those files. It's very possible I had caught things in the middle of being fully updated into the newer version.

Things were changing rapidly at that time, so I might have just caught things in mid-stream.

Otherwise, I would agree that it appears (now) that the only thing missing is that one .png image.

MlbDude2 1.8.7 glitches

I recently installed the MlbDude2 1.8.7 STV and I've been seeing some strange behavior. Occasionally, while I'm watching something, either the on-screen info will pop up or the menu (with "Cancel", "Close File", etc. on it) will pop up and then I have to close it. I've confirmed that this does not ever happen with the OriginalV2 STV and is always reproducable with the MlbDude2 STV. Everything else other than the STV is exactly the same.

On a separate note, sometimes the on-screen info windows that usually have a blue background will come up with a transparent background and I'm not sure why. This happens with either STV but I just thought I'd ask here since I'm already posting.

Thanks,

Nick

Is anyone else having trouble deleting shows? Both in the recording and imported videos, sometimes it won't delete them when I tell it to. (Perhaps because the file is still open and therefore locked?)

yeah, i'm pretty sure you have to stop the show to delete it. I can't remember if this is also the case with the original STV or just mlbdude's.

i haven't had any other trouble though

You would think that if you start watching a different show, that you could then delete the previous show. Not so... you have to close Sage in order to be able to delete the show in explorer, and I bet a restart will let you delete it in Sage. I bet that some file handle somewhere isn't being released.

Anyway, the problem is very common for me with MlbDude's skin--it used to work in default Sage.

Since switching to mlbdude2 (which is fantastic, btw), I've also had the problem of not being able to delete the file I most recently watched. It's odd, because usually I can click over and watch the first few seconds of something else, then go back and delete the old file, but occasionally even that doesn't work and I have to exit sage and restart before it will let me delete. And I have verified that these are not "currently recording" files, because at first that's what I thought was happening.

Anyway, it's a small thing, nothing compared to the benefits of using this stv.
