I know nothing about your tuner card, but do have an HVR2250 analog/digital tuner. Have you checked your Sage.properties file? You will find your card's Sage settings in the "mmc/encoders" section. Look for the line where it is named. For one of my HVR2250's two tuners it is "mmc/encoders/-112107779/video_capture_device_name=Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture". The entire group of lines starting with "mmc/encoders/-112107779/" is for this one tuner. And since each tuner in the HVR2250 has five types of input (analog using cable, digital using cable, analog through svid, etc.), there are five input sections. The digital input section on my card is as follows:
Code:
mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/available_channels= mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/brightness=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/broadcast_standard=QAM NET mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/contrast=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/device_name= mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream=true mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/hue=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/last_channel=73-15-1 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/provider_id=-481499244425641984 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/saturation=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/sharpness=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/tuning_mode=Cable mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/tuning_plugin= mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/tuning_plugin_port=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/video_crossbar_index=0 mmc/encoders/-112107779/100/0/video_crossbar_type=100 BTW, with the HVR2250, the same video source (i.e., "Hauppauge WinTV-7164 Analog Capture") is selected twice during setup, once for analog and once for digital. The input options become avasilable after source selection. Of course, I am saying these things from memory; and it's been awhile since I did the setup. Good luck and I hope this helps.

To elaborate on previous post a little, try these steps. Mine are QAM not QAM NEt. Not sure if that makes a difference. I'm in us.
1) can. Tune digital outside of sage with the ati ap? 2) if u can, then shutdown sage completely service and all 3) go into properties and find th encoder line that matches your ati tuner. 4) there are a set of numbers at the beginning of the line. Remove every line in the properties file that starts with that number. 5) save properties file. (btw u should be looking at sage.properties NOT sageclient.properties.) 6) start sage services 7 restart sage ui 8) try and add the source again but his time select digital tuner. If that doesn't work, then do the following. 1) add th source as tv tuner 2) setup hannel lineup etc. 3) shutdown sage ui and services. 4) go back into sage.properties 5) find your encoder again and look for th line which specifies the encoders broadcast type. It'll most likely say ATSC. Change it to QAM. 6) save 7) restart sage services 8) restart sage ui 9) go into the ati source and see if th summary shows QAM as broadcast type. 10) go ittno channel linup and rescan. I thought they fixed this in sage 7, but I know with earlier versions I had to perform the abov steps for my ati 650 USB HDTV tuner as well as my hvr1600 |

What version of Sage are you using? There have been problems with QAM in the past. For example, see http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...gth#post453868
where the DShowCapture.dll file in one of the betas was causing problems for some. PiX64 has made a good suggestion; but be sure to backup your sage.properties file before editing it. I should have said this in my first post. Signal strength issues are difficult. It seems that both the hardware and software can be a little less tolerant than you might expect. You may want to check your "__.frq" files that result from your scan. As I recall, one is a cache file that enables Sage to speed up the scanning process. Whether it could ever cause poor scans, I don't kkow. I tend to try everything until, with a little luck, something works to resolve the issue. I even had a signal strenth issue where I had amplified it too much.

I believe for me the issue was that there were traces of the old tuner in my sage.properties file, and therefore sage could not see it as a Digital TV Tuner.. |

I dont know being NEW here i was posting but admin had to approve them before they where posted and kinda put thing in the wrong prospective on how it went down, but iam a full user know and when i post it replys here right away
i can record in different formats know since i removed the TotalMedia35 so i changed everything to sagetv defaults, not sure what it is when i record or program a schedule recording it records sound 100% but if i watch live tv there is no sound and i get nothing from my headphones, i can watch movies out side of sagetv and the sound is there but when i use the watch live option there is NO sound. or even watch movies inside sagetv there is no sound ? still working on it, and dont understand it ...i may over this holiday weekend reinstall it all ....this includes window 7 Last edited by CDWriter; 11-22-2011 at 09:56 PM. |
