SageTV doesn't always tune in like it should...

Hi guys. I use the USB-UIRT with success. One thing I notice though is that once SageTV changes the channel (say to 45), it simply assumes that it will continue to be on 45 on the next recording. Sometimes if Im watching TV on the digital box I record from, if I dont remember to set the channel back to what it was before, SageTV won't record the right show (I have Svideo from the box to my PVR350).

Yeah, I could simply leave the digital box in here dedicated to recording only, but I would like to know if there is a way to force SageTV to ALWAYS 'type' the channel number to my box for a recording, and not assume its right all the time.

Thanks!

PS - Based on the recommendations here I've started using Sonic Cineplayer and it works great. No luck finding nvDVD 3 yet though, which I assume is quite not legal anyway.

Exit SageTV and edit the sage.properties file with a text editor.

From SageAdjustableProperties.txt:
mmc/always_tune_channel - true/false to force a channel tune for each recording even if the next recording is on the same channel

You'll want to set:
mmc/always_tune_channel=true

Is there a list or guide anywhere that explains the other settings in here (obviously some are self-explanitory, and the others probably shouldnt be touched, but id like to find other juicy things like this out).

There's a link in malore's post. Not every setting is in there, as you seem to have guessed.
