sky entitlement update

How often do I need to put my sky card back into my sky box for it to get the entitlements updated?

I use ACAMD, which works with SKY NZ.

If you use OSCAM to read the card then you don't ever need to put it back in the STB as it auto updates it.

Good luck,

thanks for the recommendation, been trying oscam today, but it does not seem to be able to recognise the TBS 3102 card reader properly.

It recognises the card is inserted, but get errors "Error activating card"

newcs works fine though with the same reader and card

Hi,

I would get a compatible USB Infinity card reader, I think you would find it is the best way to go, whilst I am not an expert I did spend a lot of time playing around with various other options.

Good luck,

Thanks for the pointer, had just ordered a Smargo Plus reader as oscam has specific support for it.

If that does not work will get an Infinity.

Ps. I usually put the server to sleep when not in use, will this affect the entitlement update with oscam?

Quick question.

The version of OSCAM you are using does run on Windows or Linux?

Hi

I am using the Windows version of OSCAM with two FireDTV-S2 tuners connected natively to SageTV both the FireDTV's have Diablo Wifi cams in the cam slots. I am also running DVBLogic V3 with 4 tuners all running AcamD plugins.

The hardware and software cams are all connected to the OSCAM server via NEWCAMD.

It all works pretty well but it takes time to get all the software talking properly.

I particularly like the FireDTV-S2 tuners as they have native hardware cam support in SageTV so you can use a Diablo Wifi (which are great) although FireDTV's are hard to find, the alternative is the Anysee E7 S2 CI, I havn't tried one for a while but the old Anysee drivers included something like "CNO" CAM software that didn't play well with SageTV, whilst it worked you had to manually close down the Anysee software.

Hope this helps,

David

smargo

Received the smargo reader, got it reading the card with on Oscam running on windows.

The only problem is that oscam keeps crashing with lib.... errors.

Can you post what version you are running and weather it is the windows or unix version.
