Hauppauge Beta Drivers for IVAC15/16 Combination

Here's a beta driver that Hauppauge provided me which supports using an IVAC15 and an IVAC16 card together in the same machine. Enjoy!

http://download.sage.tv/040317Retail...077MultiHW.zip

To install it, run hcwclear.exe first and select the maximum removal level. Then reboot your computer and select the new driver for each card when prompted. Restart your computer when you're done installing the drivers.

Any other known benefits from this driver or is it basically the latest driver modified for resolving multi-tuner 15/16 issue? Just curious if it is worthwhile to use if you're not trying to get 15/16 to work together.

I just tried this with SageTV 1.4, and I still have a problem. I now have 2 250 (type 16) and 1 350 in the same computer. However, SageTV 1.4 is only seeing 2 of my 3 tuners. The properties file seems to know about all 3 tuners, but the guide only shows 2 and I get conflict warning. I am assuming that the 2 tuners being seen are the 250s. The 2 tuners that are shown are working properly, no line of static at bottom. The TV out from the 350 is working properly. Should these drivers work properly with 1.4 or is 2.0 required?

Just as a sanity check, have you set up the third tuner?

K, I just installed with my 350 and ver15 250, and all is well except for one thing. I can't get the colorbars to dissappear no matter how many times I reboot. Does anybody know the setting to get the colorbars to dissappear?
SHS?
Narflex?
Hauppauge?

It's amazing what complete instructions will do. Thank You, that corrected the problem. I also have to reinstall the Hauppauge IR control software to get my remote control back.

OK, I found the registry setting for the ColorBars on the 350 output. It is already set to 0 and when I change it to 1 Sage changes it back to 0. They still appear, so I guess, we can call this a bug. Anybody else have any info?

Is anyone having problems with the Hauppauge remote and these drivers? The software does not seem to see the sensor, I have tried it in all 3 of my cards. I only get the "Failed to initialize Infrared Remote Hardware" error. Remote was working fine before the driver update.

I just removed the 350 from the server and returned it the client. I encountered 3 hard system lockups (reboot required) after installing the new drivers. I have returned to the previous drivers on my server. I am still having a problem getting the Hauppauge remote working again on the server. I am very interested to see if anyone else encounters problems with system lockups or the Hauppauge remote.

Carlgar,

I got the remote to work with these drivers by using the latest beta drivers found on the Hauppague site. Use the beta remote driver for the PVR-USB2 and don't forget to backup and restore the irremote file. I also have the problem with the color bars but can live with it for now. So far so good with 2 250's and a 350.

to get the remote to work you will have to install the driver update
just get the pvr update.exe from hauppauges site you hav to install it anfterr the system drivers
thats not a bug
try it again and see if you can get it setup correctly if you willing to try once more
there are others that can benefit( do not worry not me)

http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/softw...0_18_22037.exe

install it after the inf driver from sage

It works!!! I'm really happy I got this working!!! Everything seems to be working great! I can record on all my tuners (3 PVR-250 16's, 1 PVR-350) while outputting video with GUI. I don't have any stability problems so far. I've only used it a few hours though.

If you just install these drivers, you can't get the remote to work and you also can't install the Hauppauge Intervideo codec because, like kny says, you need to run the exe update. I had the same idea as kny and went ahead and tried to run the 22037 exe update (which is the latest official Hauppauge exe update), but then you get all kinds of errors after reboot. I think the problem is that the exe is expecting to update drivers in addition to setting up which card's ir jack is active and is probably confused that you're trying to update newer drivers.

All you have to do to get this to work is install using the current inf and exe files from Hauppauge, and then update your cards to the beta drivers. Do not run hwclear in between. Just update the drivers for each card manually in Device Manager. Then reboot and everything should work.

Narflex, thanks very much for the drivers. I emailed you last night and just now checked that you had emailed me back with the link to the drivers. Thanks for the quick email response.

What's your hardware cofig for your Sage machine? Specifically your motherboard and it's chipset. I checked your profile but didn't see anything there.

I have a PVR350 setting around that I've been holding off on due to possible issues with the motherboard of the system I want it in. For me to install this would currently take me a lot of time/energy. So I'd like to see some encouraging news about the PVR350s in particuliar. Calgar's results make it look like the issues are still there, so you setup would be usefull info in the data set.

TIA
/justme
