It requires SageTV 7, as the SageTCPServer plugin needs the new functionality from it...

Version 1.13 has an improvement in portrait mode for that...

Much better. I like how it just keeps wrapping too. Nice touch!

For people running the PlayBook OS 2.0, you can use the Android player with:
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...86873/?lang=EN RIM was basically giving away PlayBooks to Android developers who ported their apps, so I went for it. I don't know how reliable was the simulator, so I will most likely need to provide an update or two once I get mine. The screenshot shows small icons, but I'm not sure if it's just a simulator bug. The full TbSageTV app is also waiting on approval, though I have no clue if it will support streaming.

I have a test version at:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/408295/TaSageTVRemote.apk Version 1.14 - Fixed the layout for phone with width > 480. - Removed AdMob. After trying a phone with a width of 540 I didn't like what I saw... This version should look better. I also went back to only 2 screens instead of 3 on phones. I'll probably do some more tweaks before submitting it to Google Play. EDIT: It's on Google Play now. There has been a few iterations and the tablet UI has been tweaked too.

I setup SageTCPServer, installed taSageTVRemote and I can't connect.
My Android phone is connected to my WiFi. My Server is connected via Ethernet cable and I have a static IP of 192.168.1.40 I did not put in a password and left the default port of 9250 for SageTCPServer. What else do I have to do?

In principle that should be it... Do you see the server/client status as connected? You could enable the debugging in SageTV and SageTCPServer to investigate some more.

I have them both in debug mode.
What should I be looking for in sagetv_0.txt and where does the sageTCPServer debug log get written?

Everything will be in that file. Search for lines with SageTCPServer, to make sure it's running, that it finds the client(s) and see about the connection attempts from the mobile app...

I shut down SageTV, deleted debug file, started SageTV and finally tried to connect through taSageTVRemote.
Debug File can be found here: http://parow.org/sage/sagetv_0.txt I did notice the following me3ssage after it seems to successfully start... Calling destroy on plugin: SageTCPServer Hoping someone here can help me out.

I use it on my nexus both the StvRemote and TaSageTV and have no problem at all make sure SageTCPServer is installed and using the default port 9250 and simply start the app up and set the server on the android app to the correct ip. On my router I also have port 9250 open and redirected to my server IP.

I had problems making this work, until I noticed I installed the wrong plugin. Double check that name.

I do see the TaSageTVRemote connecting on port 9250 and getting a list of clients, but I'm not seeing any attempts to connect to one of those in order to control it... Do you see a list of available clients/extenders when you press the client status icon in the app?

I am going to do a clean install of SageTV. Maybe I have a corrupt or conflicting plugin...

I did a clean install and now my Clients are showing up.
I have a couple of issues I still need to work out before I purchase the full taSageTV application: 1. When I pick my client it actually controls my Sage Server instead. SageTCPServer has the following "client name(s)" = ENCODER "client(s) port" = 9263 The SageTV Service is disabled and not running so it should not see the Server as a client... Sage Server is MEDIA (Static IP: 192.168.1.40) Client is ENCODER (Static IP: 192.168.1.41) 2. The volume control does not work on any of my extenders. I have all of the versions (100, 200, 300) with the latest firmware.

The DVD screen is the one with the fewest used modes, at least what I use. Anyone else still using this remote?
