The firmware you specified is not a Beta version either:

http://www.silicondust.com/forum2/vi...hp?f=19&t=2484

You can find your firmware version using the HDHomerun Config UI utility...
I'd double check ... since I see no 20130528 listed...

Either case, I'd flash it back to the last official build: 20130328

Do that using the config utility.

Here is what it shows in HD Homerun setup

HDHomeRun Prime Tuner
Model: HDHR3-CC
Device ID: 131815FB
Firmware: 20130528
•Status Menu
•Channel Lineup
•CableCARD Menu
•Tuning Resolver Menu
•Download drivers
•Installation instructions

I am concerned that this may be a "roll back"
Please note that you cannot "downgrade" or "rollback" the firmware on the HDHomeRun units! Once you are on a specific version, you have to go to the next "higher" version for an upgrade. This is a CableLabs rule and out of Silicon Dust's control.

I believe I have done it before successfully...
However if it doesn't succeed (no harm trying) I would update to the latest Beta. It should be more stable.

Thinking about posting a screenshot over at SiliconDust forum to see if this is a known issue or typo. Funny that the month is only thing different than current version

Re: Firmware Versions

Unread postby jasonl » Thu Sep 12, 2013 2:48 pm

The change from 20130328 to 20130528 was for a modification needed for our factory testing routines. As the modification would not matter to anything that had already left the factory, it was not made available a a download.

There haven't been any DLNA-related changes since 20130328, so any firmware you use would work.

Looks like problem might be with Prime. I'd contact silicondust for diagnostic.

I assume you have allowed UPNP through your firewall (must if other tuners are working)

I posted over at SiliconDust forum. I am now noticing that a Prime tuner program that has recorded and I see on the hard drive chokes sage and will not start and goes into spinning wheel of death which you must power off Sage to clear it... It never even starts to show program video

I tested this particular video and it plays fine in VLC - again, SageTV chokes, never starts and gets the spinning wheel. This is the 3rd Prime recording like this.

In ConfigSageDCT did you set the "path rewrite" to a local path to your recording directory?

If you are not using UNC paths you do not need to set this... If you are using UNC then do as sflamm suggested. Make sure you sure using the latest SAGEDCT.

I am using 2.6.0.0. I think there is a 2.72 should I be using that one? If so, does in install right over the existing one without further setup?

Where can I check if I am using UNC paths? The recordings are on the same WHS 2003 machine with SageDCT and record to a drive pool

Under Settings->Replace Path

Replace the prefix from your UNC path with the local path- will increase performance:

Ie. \\nas\sagetv -> c:\sagetv

Looked up my recording path in SageTV and it is \\SAGE\SageRecordings.

Tried this and it says it cannot validate path. Do I have a space wrong somewhere?
\\SAGE\Sage Recordings -> D:\shares\Sage Recordings

then it is using a UNC path (good - if you are using client/server configuration).

the path is set in SageTV and the rewrite is done by setting the rewrite path in SageDCT - this optimizes the write locally (increases performance)

SageDCT 2.7.2 can be obtained if you donate at http://babgvant.com/

The advantage is that you can use FFMPEG to encode... which I would recommend but I do not think is the source of your issue.

\\SAGE\Sage Recordings -> D:\shares\Sage Recordings
Simple fix -> remove space from directory path (both UNC and rewrite).

Otherwise quoting the whole thing probably works, but recommend just renaming (i.e. "D:\shares\Sage Recordings")

The path has to be local to the SageDCT...

Ok.. why would my tuner0 stop working with my setup?
I noticed that I was getting some tuner failures. I've been trying figure out
what's going on. So I went into configure sageDCT and did the manual tests..

I can do the -1 and -2 tuners just fine but the -0 tuner just spins and eventually times out. I can see that the tuner is streaming something.. Just the file size doesn't grow.

The log says -> 2013/10/04 11:26:57.76 : Recording did not start. Try again. HDHomeRun Prime Tuner xxxxxxx-0

Now I'm in the process of setting up another Sage server and I have SageDCT installed there.. so I fired it up and tuner-0 works fine there. (as well as -1 and -2)
??? I'm not ready to switch over to the new server...

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim

Edit: I'm running 2.6 on both.. The new one is 64bit the old is 32 bit

Port conflict is a likely cause.

Use a program like VLC to stream directly from tuner 0.
That will identify if the problem is with the tuner or port.

I can see the channels fine if I go into the SD config and click on the channel if that's what you mean...

That's close to what you need to do...

In the configuration path set VLC as the preferred viewer.
Then watch a channel which will launch VLC to view.
Now look at the VLC URL - adjust it for each tuner to test.
