I'm using firmware version 20130328 with SageDCT version 2.6.0 and a fully patched windows 7.

It's been a dream how stable it is, after dealing with Hauppauge HD-PVR and the Hauppauge DCR-2650. Over 2 months without a system message related to the Prime.

I still have a minor issue with my HD HomeRun (OTA tuner) in that it seems to give me a 'halt' error the first time it's used after a reboot... not a big deal since I don't reboot often, but it's pretty consistent.

Hi All,

I am moving to a new home in a couple of weeks where based on all things considered I will be getting cable (CableOne) and want to try this setup on my Sage system with SiliconDust HDHR Prime.
I am running WHS 2003 and see that I need to run SageDCT as well. I have a friend who checked on their CableOne DVR to look for copy freely on the locals and basic programming and below is the results.

ESPN low def SC=No CCI 0x00 DRM 0x01
ESPN high def SC=No CCI 0x00 DRM 0x01

E (only low def with "Standard package" SC=No CCI 0x00 DRM 0x01

7 (Local) SC=No CCI 0x00 DRM 0x01

Can someone tell me if this means I can record to Sage on these types of channels or are they encrypted to where I cannot.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Help me figure out why this is happening.
I posted this over on Andy's forums, but given that it took several days before the post was cleared and the small # of people posting on the forums I'm hoping that I might find more help here.

Here's what I posted over there.......

Strange occurence. I had SageDCT (2.6x) working fine for over a week on my Windows Home Server (V1) machine and HD HomeRun Prime tuner with Comcast cable card. Dozens of recordings with no bad files.

Last Friday morning it stopped working, giving me a socket error saying: "Error ProcessPackets: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted".

A recording from 2-3am Friday morning worked fine, but the next recording at 8am (and all subsequent attempts) gave that error and would not create a file.

I did do several WHS updates in between those two recordings. In researching that error I did find several programmers having issues with that same error under windows .net. I tried uninstalling all the updates but that did not "fix" the problem.

I tried uninstalling/re-installing SageDCT but still get that error whether I try to record in SageTV, or just use the test tab in SageDCT config. I also verified that the ports for the tuners are set in Windows Firewall.

The odd thing is that I can tune and view the channels from within the HD Homerun utilities (either setup or configGUI) with no problems on the WHS machine, or any of my other machines.

The HDHR Primes still work fine in Windows Media Center on my Windows 7 machine, so between that and the HDHR utilities I know that the Primes/Cable card are working. So it is something between SageDCT and my WHS machine.

My last attempt was to contribute and try the SageDCT Beta to see if that might help. It did not.

HELP! the new TV season starts in a couple weeks!!

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help figure out what these packet/socket errors are. There is nothing more that I can see in the SageDCT logs even on verbose. It doesn't say what is conflicting.

When I uininstalled/re-installed SageDCT after many days of trying different settings I scrubbed everything out of the registry referring to SageDCT after uninstalling and before re-installing SageDCT.

I also tried a completely fresh sage.properties by renaming the properties and backup files. This was just to make sure there wasn't something in there that was causing the problem. I doubted that since I couldn't even get the test tab in SageDCT config. to work, but tried it just the same to be sure. No difference.

I had to shorten the big log file to get under the limit. I'm also not 100% sure the other file is the one you are looking for.

I'm not sure, but it was probably something to do with me alternately adding and removing the replacepath variable and also trying to put the full path into the file box on the test tab.
However, today Babgvant replied over on his forums and the problem was that something started using the same RTP port that SageDCT was trying to use.
That is about the only thing I hadn't tried fiddling with in all my machinations, and sure enough, that was the trouble. I think the main reason I didn't fiddle with the RTP port was that I wasn't all that clear on what it was and how it figured into the situation.

At any rate, all I ended up having to do was change the RTP port in SageDCT config, do a save and close, reboot, then add the tuners back in to SageTV. Multiple recordings this afternoon and tonight and it all seems to be working just fine once again.

I still have no idea what took over the original/default RTP port. I can only assume that one of the WHS updates is the culprit. <shrug>

Here's hoping that it sticks for longer than a week this time. And thanks for looking and attempting to help this frustrated SageTv guy.

Help Please
I've been a SageTV user for several years. This past month, Comcast encrypted all their channels so I start researching and find I should be able to use the HDHomerun Prime with SAGE DCT. Well I've been fighting with it for 2 weeks.

Occasionally, Sage will manage to tune in a channel after at least a 1-2 minutes wait. I have no idea why it won't work. I've attached a log if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction.

Hi,

Installed SageDCT for a new Homerun Prime and think I may have made an error in the generate assignments and copy to properties file. In my properties file I have 2 entries for each Prime tuner. Not sure how that happened, but what is the best suggested way to repair?
I do have a backup of properties file from about 8 days ago.

Simply remove the duplicates and save.
Make sure you stop the service first and restart after the edit

Would you call the ones without port designations the duplicates? Also, one of my HDHR line items says "standard" recording and one says "ATSC"? Any issues with that?

Should this tuner and related line items be removed from the properties file as well? When I ran SageDCT config it showed 4 tuners and this is one of them. Confusing a bit to me as I know this is not a 4th tuner, but do I need the line items for it in the properties file?

The device name is simple that... a string that can be anything.

What I would do is remove all the entries.. re-do the discovery, then copy out the 3 tuners into the file.

And yes, the ones you need have to have port designations (that's what separates them as tuners).

The recording type is not material, as the HDHR records on its own - SageTV does not process the video.

The reason it says ATSC is that you probably have that tuner set for over-the-air tuning on the HDHR Prime.

Check the Prime and make sure they are all set to tune cable.

I now have 5 tuners installed on my WHS 2003 system (2 HDHR, 3 HD Prime). I have scanned for channels and modified to fit what I want in the guide.

I am missing the main ABC, CBS, etc stations in the guide and cannot figure it out as they are checked in the setup even going back and unchecking/rechecking. Channels are 2-1, 6-1, 7-1, 9-1, 12-1. It loaded the sub channels in the guide 2-2, 6-2, 7-3, etc.
I chose digital broadcast and antenna for the HDHR.

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? I generated a frq file in the sage folder.
Any help is appreciated.

I have never really been able to preview anything on my WHS 2003 server. I never setup any video capability and log in remotely
