Ideas to get Hauppauge version 15 and 16 chipset cards to work together

My HTPC contains 3 PVR-250 version 16's and 1 PVR-350. I have them working fine together with old drivers. They won't work properly with new drivers. The old drivers do not support PVR-350 video output or OSD, so I'm using my video card for output. My goal is to get PVR-350 video output and OSD.

1. Are drivers that will allow both chipsets to work together being worked on? It seemed as though a few people on these forums were beta testers for new drivers. Can you give us any idea about how this is coming along? Can we expect them anytime soon?

2. The compatibility problem with the 15/16 is caused by each version needing different registry settings, but the values are set the same for all versions. Is is possible to install non-Hauppauge drivers for the cards? If I could use the drivers from a different company's version 16 card with my 250's, I'd be able to use the current Hauppauge drivers for my 350. This way, each card version would have independent registry values, and since I'd be using the current Hauppauge drivers for the 350, video output/OSD should work.

3. It might be possible to change registry values and driver filenames so that you have 2 sets of the same driver installed (each set with its own registry values), one set for each card version. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for your help. I'm going to contact Frey and ask them about the drivers. Even if they don't have them, hopefully they will tell me what I can do to get them from Hauppauge.

well mlbdude said he tried them and they do not work
you may have to separate your cards to use the TV out and remember it crashes with any mobo chipsets except ATI, nforce 1 and 2 and a few VIA AMD boards when using the On screen display of the sage UI

I'm not sure if it is fair to say that the UI crashes on the 350 output on all chipsets except the few you mentioned. I have it working rather well on both the Intel 815 and the Intel 850.

can you list your system specs
I would happy to add that but I only think it is fair to let people know
that there are issues so they will not be with everyone else waiting for a fix

Sorry kny3twalker, don't hit the forums too often lately but to answer your question the 850 is using two 128MB sticks of Samsung RDRam

Ouch, after reading this post I may have screwed up.

I just ordered the 350 bundle & 2 Rosslyns. Are these 3 cards not going to work together?

You should problaby use the Hauppauge Beta Drivers for IVAC15/16 Combination drivers for the 350. A lot of people seem to be have trouble with the Rosslyns. See the Cannot install software MPEG decoders for SageTV 2.0 with Roslyn thread for details. I expect that if you can get them to work at all then they will work togeter.

it should not matter because the roslyns have their own registry keys
and are not shared like the newer pvr250s and the old pvr250s( including the pvr 350) were sharing registry entries since they used the same drivers
roslyns have their own drivers
but you should report this to hauppauge and see if they have a response

also post at shspvr.com/forum and see if anyone their can help you more

Your best bet for info regarding the Roslyn cards are the forums here and at SHSPVR unless you have a direct link to someone in engineering at Hauppauge. The tech support department can't really help with these cards as they are only used in thirdparty apps (MCE, SageTV, BeyondTV). They can't even send you drivers.
