Yes it should work as it will be broadcast in side by side mode. This is how Sky3D broadcasts.
I'm planning on doing the same as you. Recording it then watch it at a later date. Thou have no plans to replace my TV anytime soon. Thou I did see a nice Sony 3D LED set for £600. (could use the money I was going to use for 3 HD300s) Best apart about this, is the fact I hate tennis lol Dean

I noticed the tennis was on BBC HD yesterday (Satarday) in 3D. As I said in last post it was broadcast in side by side mode.
So does anyone on here have a 3D tv. And have they tried to watch the tennis via SageTV?

I watched a bit of the tennis via SageTV in 3D. I have a Samsung LE40C750 3D TV.
I've got a load of other 3D content, demo files in AVI/MPG/MKV format, all in side by side mode, that all plays fine through SageTV too. The only problem is the menus/overlays get screwed up as the picture is being split, it would be nice if SageTV could detect it's 3D somehow and switch the TV or UI automatically, or maybe a plugin could sort out the UI. Have to see what happens with Google once the dust settles. |
