but still I much better deal in my opinion than the maxtor from compusa

anyone though know if Hitachi is a good brand for harddrives

I thought it was a really good price but if a bad brand please reply

it looks to be in store only

and maybe only in Texas but not sure

We've had nothing but problems with the Hitachi hard drives that we use at work. They come standard in HP and Compaq machines, and we go through them like water.

Are those the new Hitachi drives or the old ones? Hitachi took over IBM's hard drive division and I have always liked the IBM drives.

I would have to guess both, because we're still getting brand new drives over varying sizes (up to the 200gb range) that have to be replaced way faster than they should be.
