Newbie questions (Re: Digital Recording)

I am trying to find a hardware software solutions to meet my needs. Sage seems to be the right fit but I am still wondering about a couple of things;

1) Is it possible to (with the right hardware) to record digital cable in digital quality?
2) If yes what card would I use to do this?
3) I am in Canada does anyone know if there is something like a TitanTV available?

Maybe I should elaborate on this. When I stated the "right hardware" I meant using a Digital TV card like the "Hauppauge WinTV-D Digital TV Tuner Card" or a different type of card that is digital as opposed to analogue.

1) Yes, you can record digital cable, but no you can't do it without converting it to analog (ie s-video).
2) Something like a 250 would do this, including the Blackbird based cards Frey Tech is selling now.
