Start up in liveTV
Anyway to get sage to start up in LIVETV mode and bypass the main menu?
I'm using sage priamrily as a PVR and EPG to replace my cable box and having to go to the EPG and select a program every time I start is annoying. I have put sage in my windows startup menu and would like to have it start right on the TV channal I left it at. Is it possible?

I was going to suggest trying to use one of the "-event #" command line parameters, but it seems that starting it that way doesn't work... I guess that is only for sending a message to SageTV when it is already running.
The best I can come up with at the moment is to map the "LiveTV" command to a button on your remote. One button press & live tv will start. The "TV" command is another one to try, since it works as a toggle between video playback & the last menu you were on. On the Hauppauge remote, I believe the "Back/Exit" button is normally mapped to the "TV" command. Edit: or the "Go" button... I haven't used the default layout in so long, I don't remember it exactly. - Andy

See this document for a complete list of available commands, even though you may not need the SendMessage info the doc contains. If you are using the Hauppauge remote & want to edit its ini file, see my links below. (But, you can simply reassign the keys if you wish, rather than assigning new keys ot the remote's buttons.) - Andy

If you are using girder you can simply have girder start sage, wait until girder has the main screen in focus, then send the command for liveTV. Although it doesnt just skip the main menu, it happens fast enought that you barely see the main menu.
i have been starting sage like this since the beginning. |
