SageTV Client not updating Sage Server

I posted a message a couple of days ago about my SageTV not storing Recording Quality changes.

Well, I think I've narrowed it down. It doesn't seem to store Recording Quality changes from my client. If I make the change on the client, the change is not saved. I can add the recording itself from the client, but when I change the recording quality, this setting is not stored.

The same goes for editing an existing Favorite. I changed a favorite from Channel 3 to Channel 9 from my SageClient, only to find the next day that the change was not saved. The show was back on the previous channel setting, and the shows on Channel 9 were not recorded.

When I 1st made the change, from Channel 3 to 9 on the Client, then actually viewed the Upcoming Scheduled Events on the Client as well, I saw that the list was showing the change in the channel of upcoming recordings. However, somehow the next day when I checked the machine from the server unit itself, the channel change was not there, and the recordings were not either.

Is there some issue with Clients updating the server that I need to check?

OK, I have confirmed this happens to me every time.

Today I wanted to schedule a recording of an existing favorite that I knew it was not going to record, because it knows it's recorded this episode already.

What I do is, on my client, I click on my Favorites Manager, click on the Favorite, then click Additional Airings. I then see a list of every episode of that favorite that's going to come on. In that list are many that are in Italics, meaning that they are repeats that it knows it's recorded before, so it has no plans to record them again. I see the episode I want to re-record, so I click on the episode, then I click the RECORD selection. I then close RECORD OPTIONS, where I then change the recording quality from Default to 2.5 DVD. I then click BACK.

If I view the upcoming recording schedule, I see the show I've added, and if I check, the recording quality is correct - 2.5 DVD, but if I exit the SageClient, then open it again, when I look at the upcoming schedule and check that recording, the recording quality is back to Default.

This is a bug I can repeat every time and needs to be fixed.

The only way around this problem is to go to the Sage server and make the change there, where it will then stick.

why are you exiting sageclient though
it can sleep just like the server edition

also submit the bug
I think you could also just clear the watched and it will get recorded again
and will use the recording quality of the favorite
but manual recording needs a fix
