EPG download frequency

My wife is missing Oprah, and she's pissed!

I'm using the built in guide for my zip code (91740, Adelphia rebuild digital cable). It appears that the detailed show info for Oprah doesn't get updated in the EPG until less than 12 hours before the show airs. So, if I look at the show description and ShowID's for any of the Oprah airings tomorrow or in the future, they're all the same, and they have the same showID (no unique episode id). For this reason, Sage doesn't automatically record the favorite because it thinks it already recorded it.

Since the EPG downloads updated data every 24 hours, it looks like the timing of this is just right so that it doesn't get the update in time to recognize today's Oprah as one it hasn't recorded yet. I think if I could change it to download every 12 or 8 hours, it would be OK. How can this be changed? I found a epg\download_frequency setting in sage.properties, but it's set to 0 and I don't know what value to put in there.

I don't see that property listed in the SageTV Configuration Properties document, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is no longer used. For now (until someone can say whether that property is active & how to use it), you could force an EPG update a few hours before Orpah regularly airs & then it would update at that time every day. (Go to Channel Setup and toggle a channel on/off twice to make sure it is back to where it started & click on Done with Channel Setup.)
