Just signed up online and tried your Navi-x simulator, now I see what's going on
![]() Ok, I'll take a look at this, looks like getting into Sage will be pretty simple. Just need to make some light modifications to my PlayOn stuff and I might be able to get this going.

Not trying to push Boxee on anyone, but if you want to better see Navi-X in action and get a better assessment of what's happening, it may help people understand what our app is a little better!
http://www.boxee.tv/download Then install on your computer and open Boxee... click Apps and "Add Repository"... then input this address... http://tinyurl.com/navixforboxee and then click on The Navi-X Repository for Boxee on GoogleCode... then Navi-X... then Favorite it. It will show up when you hit escape to the main menu and then hit apps and Navi-X. This is probably the most stable demo I can show you now. We have an XBMC version but make sure you get the "official" releases of XBMC and not nightly builds if you want to try Navi-X on XBMC... which our app can be downloaded at www.navi-x.org, under the downloads section. iRoNBiLL |

Also... You would officially be on the team once you port it. We are stretching our arms out currently to a multitude of new platforms. Who knows where we will be next! Just a thought.

Wow this is awesome! After the first couple days of this post being up it didn't look like anyone had interest in this, but it's great to see this may be being pursued!

The worst thing about porting into the online section with feeds like playon is the online interface sucks..

The only problem with VFS is that it is in private beta and there is no ETA on when it will be made public.
Now if Stuckless was working in the background adding full support for Navi-X and released it in a month then I could live with that. However, time lines are always bad things to talk about. evilpenquins approach may be the quickest. Either way, I just hope some one commits and picks this up and runs with it. We already have the necessary support from Nav-X. That is half the battle IMHO. |

EvilPenguin is probably the most qualified. I'd like to take a shot at it but my plate is full at the moment.

I've been playing with this in XBMC and I have to say its pretty impressive however I'd like to ask where it gets its content from? To me it looks like torrent sites which I don't think too many US user's would like but I could be wrong.

We never use torrent sites... we stream from websites that host video content. TV Shows mostly come from the broadcaster video episode sections and Movies come from a few places like 66 stage, crackle, videofriender, stagevu, novamov, divxstage, movshare... it's all run using a server-side script know as a "processor" that outputs the final url for a video file using dynamic linking. It's like a scraper for video urls.
If a particular website goes down, we would not be able to serve content from it obviously... and we have tons of users already contributing new content on a daily basis... tons of different things... commercial to independent. Just go to http://navix.turner3d.net and make a free account and you get free playlist hosting so you can make your own playlists and link to stuff on the internet. Almost everything plays but sometimes rss needs a subtype like rss:video or something... no biggie really. If you have Boxee, you can link directly to webpages and open them from within... I use this to link to datpiff free hosted mixtapes so people can stream instant on their TV's, etc. via Boxee but if Sage TV has a browser, we could make html compatible too... not just direct links to video, audio, images, podcasts, rss/xml, text, live cams, rtmp... pretty much whatever. So the shorter answer for you is this... if it's publically available on the internet, you can link to it for playback via Navi-X. Don't forget to check out Grooveshark music and Apple Movie Trailers! iRoNBiLL Last edited by iRoNBiLL; 06-13-2011 at 03:01 PM. |

Looks like this topic is officially dead. If someone wants to get at me about porting Navi-X to SageTV, let me know. Also, it looks like we will be going to Android before SageTV because a friend ported over Navi-X it looks like. Catch up fellas... don't let GoogleTV or Boxee get one over on good ol' SageTV!

Ohh yes... do tell!
![]() This isn't the first time I have attempted to locate a SageTV dev... unfortunately this is the third time I have done this so I'm not holding my breath on anybody. Most of the time, I just get someone making comments on these posts that have absolutely nothing to do about development interest and amount to no more more than just someone's 2 cents on what they think. Definitely not the reason why I started this thread. Hate to be a pessimistic, but it's hard to be positive when relevent feedback is so short and scarce. At this point, only developers with a vested interest should really be commenting on this thread. I'll hope for the best I suppose. iRoNBiLL |

You do realize that this is a user-to-user forum for Sage right?
If you are looking to get in touch with one of the official Sage Developers, best to contact Sage directly via email... While the official developers do check in to these forums from time to time, most of the devs you are likely to reach here are just enthusiastic Sage customers who happen to enjoy coding in their free time. It looks like a few of them have shown some interest in at least exploring NAVI-X, but this stuff doesn't usually happen overnight (free time is precious after all).

Out of the hundreds/thousands of Sage users, three people in this thread have expressed interest in some sort of Sage integration, and one developer seems fairly interested in tackling the project. This level of interest hardly seems to warrant an expectation that a week later, we'd have a beta to try out. If a developer is interested enough, it'll happen, given enough time.
And I certainly won't think less of Sage if Android beats us to the punch...
