Navi-X on SageTV?

Boxee is pretty cool. [...]I just wish the video quality of netflix wasn't so bad.

Depends on the platform (hardware constraints if your running Boxee on a computer, the Netflix version there is also very outdated) or in the case of Boxee Box and if you're in Canada, Netflix lowers the streaming quality by default (due to bandwidth caps there) but you can override that.

Otherwise, Netflix quality should be as good as on any other platform (PS3, etc) sans 5.1 audio which Netflix hasn't made available to Boxee Box yet.

There shouldn't be any hardware constraints. I'll have to take a look at the quality settings (if there are any) to see what's going on. I've just got my 30mbit internet connection so I know that isn't the issue.

Two potential issues: boxee software is a resource pig and the current computer/OS version doesn't use hw acceleration for netflix. I can't speculate more w/o knowing your hardware specs...

Hey Tom,

It's been a couple of weeks so I figured I would ask how your SageTV app is coming on Boxee and if you are near completion with it. I heard there is an issue with SMB networked drives happening in the app due to the latest firmware update in Boxee and I guess I was wondering if you are going to consider maybe setting aside development on SageTV for Boxee until they fix your reported major jira bug.

Since Navi-X doesn't use networked shares (...currently), now would be a good time to consider picking up work again on the app since no one seems to be reporting issues with Navi-X for Boxee on the latest firmware... just a thought. Hope you didn't forget about Navi-X entirely since you picked up development on the SageTV app for Boxee. Hope all is well. Cheers.

I know I said I wouldn't bother you but I would like to pick up development again for Navi-X for SageTV if you are too busy or no longer interested in porting the app to SageTV, then I don't want prospective development to stop indefinitely for a Navi-X port for SageTV all because you got busy and could not come back to this... I would rather try to solicit someone elses interest if Navi-X no longer has yours.

Please let me know if you will be able and interested in continuing development for a Navi-X port sometime in the near future. Otherwise, if you are no longer interested, perhaps you wouldn't mind passing along source code you currently have to someone who would like to pickup on this port. Thanks for your understanding.

I understand you are busy on SageTV for Boxee so that is to be expected.

If anyone would like to pickup where tmiranda left off on porting Navi-X to SageTV, there is already a framework in progress thanks to tmiranda... please let me know if you are interested in picking up on work already in progress please SageTV crowd. Thanks!
