onboard audio asus a7n8x-e pvr-250
Hi folks....
I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard with onboard audio. I also have the Hauppauge PVR-250 capture card. I use the WinTV2000 software to watch Live TV, and it works fine. I get audio & video output. If I try to use the SAGE 2 trial, or the Beyond TV trial; I can get video, but no audio. I have tried using both the 1/8" audio out jack, and the coaxial digital audio out. Both work with WinTV2000, neither work with Sage/Beyond. Any suggestions? |

I have the same sysbrd in both my Client and Server and audio works with both. Server I don't do any watching but just checked it's settings for playback (through dinky speakers plugged into sybrd just so I know what's going on if needed.) Check your audio settings under setup:detailed:audio. Server set for Renderer - Directsound:Nvidia..., mpeq2 audio decoder - Intervideo NonCSS. My main Client isn't up at the moment but I output via sysbrd digital coax to theater 5.1 sound system. As I recall renderer the same but different Intervideo mpeq2 decoder.

In your NVMixer set your input for stereo mix.

I've tried every combination of renderer and decoder. I previously didnt have NVMixer, but I d/l the latest driver from nvidia.com, which includes this, and have set input to Stereo Mix.
no luck. any other suggestions? |

I'm at work and not at the PC. I have this working fine on this board. Stereo mix for input. Make sure none of the other inputs are muted for now. Try this without digitized input. In Sage I have used Default Directsound and also Directsound:Nvidia device or whatever it says. The PVR250 passes sound over the PCI bus and the stereo mix should work for you. I'll look tonight to see if I missed anything for you.

I have this exact same mobo in my Sage based HTPC and using the coax digital out to my receiver. This works fine.
I know this doesn't solve your problem directly, but just wanted to provide another data point that there is nothing inherently wrong with this configuration. Good luck ! |

sound like your decoder is not set up correctly
try using the hauppauge intervideo decoder with default render for both also this is weird but I installed the new beta of BeyondTV 3.5 and I got no audio with NVDVD but I get it in Sage, huh? |
