Moving STV to new PC follow-up
I read the post about how to move STV to a new computer, and I just have a more detailed/follow-up if I may? (7.1.5beta on windows7)
Can I somehow copy my properties file and tuner setup without having to go thru that setup again? The tuner thing especially...that takes forever to tweak-and-tune. If I can copy over some properties files or something to do that, it would be great. Thanks, AJ

Short answer: no. Your tuners will have different device IDs on the new machine, so the old properties file won't be usable as is.
In addition, the properties file contains a lot of information about installed plugins and such that won't be accurate for a brand new installation. You would do more harm than good by copying it over.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Not what I wanted to hear, but thank you for the info.
Another Q: When "moving", I'm bringing over my existing disks. Should I add my "SageRecordings" directories as part of "Media Center Import Directories" during initial setup, or add them later as locations where STV should store recordings (I think that comes-up later, right)? Thanks again, AJ

If you want Sage to record to them, add them as Recording directories. If not, add them as Import directories. You don't need to add them in both places, if that's what you're asking.
