IMPORTING LOGOS does not work.

I have some JPG and GIF logos of stations.

I created the folder.

I renamed 1 JPG to the name on the listing.

Channel 8 is WRGT, the tab says "8 WRGT" wich if FOX.

I renamed my JPG file "8 WRGT" and just 'WRGT" and it does not work.


I also would like to keep the station letters AND number along with showing the ICON.

I have seen it both ways (just ICONS and both letters and ICONS)

ANy help? Thanks.

you may have to restart sage
but name the icon the same as you see it in the guide but without a number
mine shows both the icon and station name and number
I did not realize you could do icon only

They will eventually show up w/o restarting, but not immediately. For quickest results, set up all your logos & simply restart. And, right -- don't use any numbers, just the station letters -- CNN becomes cnn.jpg.

Thanks, I didn't wait very long. Is there a SIZE limitation to the files? I have some very nice logos someone sent me, but the are pretty good sized.

I don't know what max size there might be... but how big are they? I would think that any logo larger than what is displayed in the Recording Detail screen, when SageTV is in full screen mode, would be overkill.

I STILL can not get logos to show up. I KNOW it's not me or my logos, as I am trying the SAGE TV CLIENT program on my laptop and was very easily able to add the logos there with NO problem what so ever. They showed up instantly upon starting the EPG.

I downloaded the same files via my network and put them in the same folder on the "server" (It was already there) and NOTHING.



The only difference I can see(Unless sage client handles logos differently) is my screen resolution.

My laptop (15.4 inch wide screen) is set at a fairly high setting (1024x768 AT LEAST) while my HDTV is running SAGETV at 480i (Windows at 640x480). It appears there may not be enough ROOM on the tab for both. If I could SHRINK the text then maybe it would work I don't know.

I can't run any higher resolution because of my HDTV (long story short: I want full screen, higher resolutions puts my TV in 1080i (16x9) mode, cant stand to watch TV in a small window on a 53" TV)

Now if someone could tell me how to get at least 800x600 in 480i I would be eternally grateful! Or eveb an800x600 interlaced resolution that wont turn my set into it's 16x9 mode!

How long did you wait for them to show up? Did you try restarting the server to get them to show up immediately?

When you go to the Recording Detail screen for a show, do you see a logo there?

Hello Andy, thanks for helping.

I waited over 15 minutes while I fiddled with sage client on my laptop (setting it up)

I shut down SAGETV completely, there was no icon in the task bar. I had to click the SAGETV icon on my desktop to restart.

The Logo does not appear anywheres that I can tell. Granted I'm still fumbling my way thru the menus a bit, but but my INFO page on the channel (when I could find it!) was blank as well. As far as the recording detail screen, I'm not 100% sure what screen that is. All I can say for sure at this point is that in the 2-3 screens I see it in on my laptop, I can't see it on any of those on the server.

The Recording Detail screen is what you get when you use the Info command (ctrl+i) while a show is highlighted in the LiveTV Guide or the list of recordings. If you still don't see logos there, they are not getting loaded. BTW -- I resized my SageTV window to something _very_ small & the logos were still displayed next to the channel number in the guide.

Normally, the logos are stored in the ChannelLogos subdirectory in the SageTV dir; however, you should also check your epg/logo_dir property to see if it is set to something different. Perhaps compare it to your client's setting. (If you have to change/set that property, don't forget to exit SageTV first.)

I figured it out, thanks to Opus4.

I had opened the sage.properties file with notepad and somehow I managed to save that type of file as a notepad file type. So it was actually called "SAGE", not "sage.properties"

I removed the file type acossiation and the file returned to "sage.properties" and all was well!
