So I had nothing else to do, so I went ahead and upgraded and everything looks to be working fine. I have noticed the fanart and posters seem to load more slowly on my hd300. I think this could be a caching thing though. I didn't rescale all my fanart after the upgrade, cause I know the upgrade doesn't really touch the userdata area. I'll see how the speed continues to look as I exercise it..

Well I haven't done any scientific test. But things seem a little slower, scrolling through my movies in the umb I see the circle of patience a lil bit more. I'm wondering if caching could maybe be improved. I really only use the hd300 for most of my viewing.

If you upgraded to the latest beta try going back to the previous version and see what happens.....

Is the best way to do that is simply re-installing the last beta over it? Have u also tried the newest beta to see if you experience the same thing?

Yeah, installing a prev beta over the other one does the trick.

I haven't upgraded to the new beta yet. Probably this weekend.

Where are you seeing it slow?

I did down grade, it seems a little perkier.. I'll have to wait and see what you guys say. I know we could never get the hd300 as fluid as a pc client, but i'm hoping we can come close some how. I just wish the hd300 hardware had a little more muscle and ram. Maybe by the time hd400 we will be close.

The grid view has never been very fast for me. It'll get a little better when we get some optimizations in there.

btl.

btw, that downgrading to 7.1.5 didn't work out so good. Now all of a sudden when I tune to live tv it will stop after like 5-6 minutes, like it's reached the end of the file. This is killin me....

FYI... DO NOT just run an older version of the installer on top of your current install to downgrade , it will result in both versions being installed at the same time and cause you issues, such as the one I listed above..

Apparently there's a sticky that covers this that I just found out about. So follow this If u can as it's the official procedure. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16602

What you have is both 7.1.5 and 7.1.7 installed at the same time. What i actually did... Went into control panel and uninstall 7.17 and then there should be a backup of your sage.properties , sage client.properties , and wiz.bin from 7.1.5. Replace those files with the 7.1.5 backups and then start up sage. This should bring you back to 7.1.5.
