Colossus recording OK on Server but not via HD300

I have submitted a bug report a month or so ago for this. Support indicated it would be fixed in last release. Is this a HD300 issue?
Now and then I get a recording from my 1 of 2 colossus that plays fine on server but is jerky on HD300.
Thoughts!

FWIW all of my Colosuss HD and SD recordings(I have recorded and played at least 80+ files) play smoothly on all of my extenders. The fact that your problem files play smoothly on your server indicates that the issue is probably your network.

What bitrate are the problem files? That should not matter either because I can play full BD rips on all of my extenders smoothly and they have bitrates as high as 38Mbps.

Are the problem files ones that have the highest bitrates of any of the video you play? Can you play full BD rips smoothly on your HD300? Do those same problem files always studder when played on the HD300? Is there anything else going on in the background like an HDHR recording over the network?

Thanks for reply 'bits'.
I only use my SageTV for TV. No riped anything, so not able to check that. At the same location, my DVD player does Netflix via same network OK.

Problem file this time is AgentCodyBanks = 5,524,731KB. I have a similar MPEG-2 TS Video file BadSanta = 7,193,281KB and it plays fine. In fact I have a number of files this size for about same run time. I just jumped between lots of my recordings and only 'CodyB' is an issue. Nothing else I am aware of is happening on my network.

I notice that the image size on my screen while it is16:9 doesn't fill whole screen like the other files do. I have a large black boarder around it.

Edit -We only have one Tv in house and only time I am on server to check things are running OK.
Thanks

In trying to find solution I changed my record quality for 2 x Colossus from 'Great' to 'Best'.
Those recordings are OK. But CodyB is still playing fine on server but not HD300.

Sounds like you have a network issue. The lower bit rate on the recording means you don't use as much bandwidth on the network during playback.

This would not affect older recordings.

But I upped my level, not dropped it and the new recordings at higher level are fine.

Sounds like it was broadcast letterboxed. Since Colossus is analog capture, it source broadcasts black bars, it captures black bars. This also explains file size difference, as large black bars compress better

What is the information from the Detailed info screen re: video format and audio format?

I have suspicions that dd5.1 is fine, but dd2.0 is causing problems for some people.

my guess is that is 16:9? if its 16:0 i would expect major problems

and just as i suspected, stereo audio. Have you submitted your logs.?

I was having this exact issue and discovered that converting the video fixed my ability to watch it on my extender.

We use SageTV to watch TV on our one 'big' TV we have. I record, I watch.

I didn't realize I could have converted it and watched it. Instead I deleted it. What the kids don't know won't hurt them.

It would be nice if there was one thing out there that did what it was meant to without hiccups... Oh there is they are called 'US Special Forces'
