Thanks, I'll enable the logs and let you know the results.

BTW, this is not the first time that happens, but after updating the Phoenix APIs SageTV automatically disables your plugin, is that because of some "incompatibilities" between the two plugins that somehow you need to sort out? Is it safe to manually re-enable your plugin?

I've noticed that too. Yes it's safe to manually re-enable it.

It looks like a timing issue with the handling of dependencies at plugin startup. I'll make a change in the plugin manifest in the next release which may help.

I'm finding that if I set the folder preview preference to "Episode" only the first episode image of any given season is being used. Actually no matter what the folder preview preference is set to I've never seen an episode image being used other than the first one.

There's an issue with how the phoenix api is handling the episode art. I've spoken to stuckless about it in the past, but it's probably time for me to follow up on that.

Pheonix Fanart for SageTV - Backgrounds stopped on newly added DVDs

The "Pheonix Fanart for SageTV" UI Mod has been working great, up until perhaps a month or two ago. The backgrounds quit being displayed only on newly added DVDs in the Videos / DVD/BD menu. The fanart is present in "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\Phoenix\Fanart\Movies\<movie title>\Backgrounds yet isn't displayed.

I've uninstalled/re-installed the UI Mod. No change. The posters for the newly added DVDs show up fine. Just no backgrounds.

Another change I've noticed. The DVDs that do display their background picture, only show one image ant longer. It used to be that the background would either cylce, or pick randomly, a different image from the several found in the background folder each time the movie was landed on in the list. Now only one image is shown each time the menu focus lands in it.

Which panel isn't showing the backgrounds?

If you go into Manage Metadata, Display/Edit Fanart, does it show that it sees that a background is available?

The missing backgrounds are when I go to Videos / DVD/BD. The DVDs added about 2 months ago or earlier have backgrounds, but have quit rotating through the available backgrounds. The more recently addded DVDs display no background pics. In BMT there are several backgrounds available for each movie, new or old. Yes, the images also display in "Manage Metadata / View/Edit Fan Art for this Item"

I've got a new version I've been playing with, which I'll release once I've done a bit of a tidy up on it. I'm hoping to get some time to do that over the next week.

I'm not seeing any background issues with it, so hopefully it will help with your problems

Fantastic, Thanks John! I'll be watching for the "update available".

re: I cannot see DVD posters on DVD info popup

Hi John,

sorry for the delay, but I'm back with the issue above and this time I know how to reproduce it. Basically the DVD posters on info pop-up are only appearing when the poster scaling option is enabled which generates the small thumbnails in the cache. When the poster scaling option is disabled, I reckon, the image to display in the DVD info pop-up should be taken from the fanart repository in the same way it is displayed in the info...

Thank you very much for v1.0.7 and very excited by your work on the Music part...it really needs your nice touch

Regarding the Music side, I don't know whether you thought about it already, but I like to share with you a little suggestion. Basically my music collection is organised by Artist/Album folders and in each individual folder there is a file called "folder.jpg" which represent the cover for the album as well as the picture of the artist in the Artist folder. Years ago when I was using MCE I was able to see the Artist picture when browsing by "Artist" and the album cover when browsing by "Album", however in SageTV when browsing by "Artist" the first cover art of the first album is displayed when present. I think it would be nice when browsing by "Artist" and by "Folder" to check whether a "folder.jpg" is present and display that cover art instead. What do you think?

Thanks for the work in tracking that down. I'll look into that.

I wouldn't get too excited about it at the moment. I'm struggling through the Music panel logic. At the moment it's dependant on your path through the panels as to whether the art displays.

Good idea, I'll add that to the list.

Where are the banner images cached? I'm using malore menus and did some DIY banners for shows that bmt wasn't finding banners for and had a few trial and error attempts on what looked good at that scale. They'll rotate in the top info area, but the bottom left pane of malore menus are cached and won't change. How do I clear those cached banners?

By default they'll be cache in ...\SageTV\SageTV\userdata\Phoenix\cache\imagetrans\xxxxq, where xxxx indicates the device you're using (HD300, HDx00 or PC)

Not sure what I am doing wrong?

I have recently re-installed sage and setup with Diamond and Pheonix Fanart 1.0.7. All seems to work well except when I hight light a dvd, the info is displayed on th eright but not the cover art. Although the cover art is displayed on the left with the rest of the covers. Also does this version need the .properties files?

At first I thought this was Diamond but, I was corrected and and it seems to be Pheonix.

Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Skybolt

You're right it doesn't work when using Diamond. I'll have a look at that.

Music Fanart

Hi everyone, I am running latest versions of STV and using Diamond 3.312 along withh CMT 3.0.6 and Phoenic Core Services 2.3.44. I noticed that this new version of Pheonix has a Music folder in the Fanart Folder. This looks great with Album covers along with posters and backgrounds. I have looked at all of the settings I can find but these pictures are not appearing in the Music option on the Diamond UI.
Am I doing something wrong or is the interface with Diamond an issue?
Help as always greatfully recieved.

Diamond doesn't make any changes to the Music fanart at this time.

J, is there any intention to integrate the music fanart with Diamond. That would be a really cool addition.
Thanks

re: Fanart caching generation timeout

Hi John,

hope you're doing well, such a long time...

I've got a quick question regarding your plugin if you don't mind. I've been working recently to a simple and free way to improve the fanart browsing experience on the extenders and I have a thread here to keep anyone interested up to date.

So far I managed to cache the entire Fanart repository (you know that I'm not scaling the posters and backgrounds, remember my infinite number of requests? ) into a RamDisk as well as the userdata\Phoenix\cache, however the only thing that still get scaled and somehow interrupts the browsing speed is the small background thumb that gets generated every time you stop more than 1 second on a poster.

I was wondering whether there is a setting in the Sage property file that allows you to increase that timeout. Also it seems that the timeout is not get reset properly because when I quickly do page up/down, the browsing sometimes stops briefly to generate the background image.

Thanks
Eddy
