channels over 99

I tried to find info by searching to no avail.

When scheduling recordings, my channel setup does not go over channel 99. I believe I set everything up correctly (Digital cable provider, etc.)

For example, I have Fox on channel 9 and 309. Channel 309 is for High Def signals and that is the channel I would prefer it record from.

How can I have it record off channel 309 and not 9.

Hope you can help quickly as The Simpsons will start soon.

Also, I noticed my recordings don't have audio.

I am using an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96.

Channels 9 vs 309: Didn't someone have a way to force the use of that 2nd channel? (I don't remember it.) Also: are both channels always the same? If so, perhaps simply disable channel 9 in Channel Setup.

I am using WinXP Pro. I do have Yahoo messenger installed and usually running. I do not have MSN Messenger installed. I also have NAV always running.


My provider is Time Warner Digital - Houston. Zip=77054

Um, as far as sound goes, I can't quite remember how it is connected (i'm at work now). I am sure the audio is not connected through the PVR 250. That could be the problem. However, I can get audio through the computer when watching tv live thru Sage.

I use the S-Video for video input.

The high def channels with my time warner are channels 295-313. I KNOW this card cannot record high def, per se, but it should be able to record shows broadcast on high def channels that are still SD...like The Simpsons.

Can y'all see channels over 99?

Yes you need to connect the audio from the cable box to the 250 or you won't get any sound. As for lineup I checked the Zap2it site and both Huston TW Digital lineups have 300+ channels so you should be able to see them, it could be something else in your setup. You might either need to go through the channel setup and enable the 100+ channels (if you didn't) or it could be something else, but I can't think of what right now.

There was an option to enable 100+ channels?!? D'Oh! I didn't see that option and I went through the setup a few times.

I will try again with the audio connected to the 250 when I get home. That should work.

During setup of the Sage software, make sure you pick the correct Time Warner Houston channel setup. If I remember correctly, there are 3 or 4 choices.

I use basic and extended cable only and picked the wrong one at first which showed ALL of the Digital cable box selections.

I then picked the one called Time Warner DAC Cable Ready TV - Houston which only shows channels up to 99.

But like stanger89 noticed, when i go to Zap2it and enter the exact cable provider, it list all channels (way past 300).

I will try out all the cable service choices tonight.

I went thru the setup wizard again and this time I get all the channels! I may have accidently picked the wrong provider before.

The tv audio was coming from my cable box to the M-Audio via RCA cables. To use the line in on the 250, I have to use the microphone jack on the front of my receiver. Does that sound correct? I hope I don't have to unplug the mic jack everytime I want to hear mp3's or DVD's.

You should move the cables from your soundcard to the 250, this should have no effect on how you connect your PC to your reciever.
