SageTV - Shuts Down, HD300 Turns Off?

Is it normal for when shutting down SageTV for an attached HD300 to also turn off?

If the HD300 is connected to the server, then yes it is normal, since it can no longer communicate with it if Sage isn't running on the server.

If you meant that you shut down the SageTV UI on the server and the HD300 turns off, then that most likely means you haven't got Sage running in service mode, hence shutting down the UI means the HD300 can't communicate with Sage.

If you had Sage running in service mode on the server and shut down the UI, Sage would still be running in the background, so the HD300 wouldn't be affected.

Thanks for your help. I am not running SageTV as a service and I did mean shutting down the UI. I was wondering if the HD300 would just revert to stand alone mode if the server wasn't available.

Thanks again.

Nope. Both HD200 & HD300 (if in Extender mode) lose connection with Sage (Service shut down, unplugged network cable, unplugged switch/router, etc), they will turn off.
