Talking Success!!!

Well, the first part is done.

I re-configed my 750 mhz Duron PC w/ 768 mgs RAM and a PVR 350.

I was kind of concerned about the video quality, due to the slow speed of the computers.

My concerns were for naught. Using the PVR TV-OUT, I have flawless and incredibly sharp video!

I am SURE glad I came back to Sage!!!

I should get my USB-UIRB on Tues so then I will be able to set up the tuning to my VOOM box.

Now, my next step is to add my PVR250 and Sat tuner.

Then, the question will be.. Will I get the same sharp clear flawless video when running TWO pvr devices on this 750mhz Duron.

Thanx for all the help here..

You won't have any problems due to cpu speed -- you are doing all your encoding/decoding in hardware. The only possible problem I can think of with older computers is a slower IDE drive throughput, but I doubt that could even be a serious problem with just 2 encoders. The only real issue for older/slower computers is that you just have to be willing to put up with some slower program response time.

I would expect that you will encounter problem if you are adding a type 16 250 in the same machine with the 350. See my post Mixed Hauppauge Card bug - Example for an example of what I think you will see. If you do encounter this expected problem you can try my workaround in the Possible initialization problem with multi-tuner cards thread, the first post.

Another issue I think you will encounter is that the 350 and 250 try to use the same registry entries but need different values. It is best if the 350 is installed after the 250.

Good Luck, I look forward to hearing the results of the 250 addition.
