HD300 GUI Elements Not Displaying Properly

I was wondering if anyone else running Diamond 3.2 on and HD300 with the latest beta firmware has noticed some weirdness with a few graphic elements. First of all, my "spinning wheel" is from the Standard UI instead of the Diamond "concentric spinning wheels". Also, it looks as if it is pulling in a the footer image (on the home screen) from the Standard UI. I tried switching to the Standard theme and then back to the Diamond Simplified theme to snap it out of it, but that did not work. None of these are a big deal, but I wasn't sure if it could be indicative of a greater issue so I thought I would share. I want to make sure it is not just me before I submit a bug report.

It is just you. I'm running Diamond 3.2 on a HD300 with the beta firmware 20110217 2 on SgaeTV 7 beta 7.15 and I definitely have the concentric spinning wheels. I would say look in the themes folder for Diamond to see if you are missing some graphics. Or uninstall the Diamond plugin and then reinstall it.

I tried uninstalling and installing Diamond and am still experiencing the default spinning wheel. I also tried to revert back to the Cheetah STV (was running the new SageTV7 STV) on the HD300. No dice. I also tried to reset the extender by unplugging it for a minute and plugging it back in. Still didn't work. The funny part is that when I connect with Placeshifter from a variety of locations, I get the Diamond spinning wheel. Anywho, nothing to fret about since I haven't experienced any other issues to speak of (yet). Just one of those things that nags at my anal retentiveness.

Try restarting your server, there is note in the theme.properties about themeing the animated wait icon that it will require a restart.

Just restarting or resetting the hd300 doesn't restart the server.

I'll dig into this a bit more and let you know if I find anything else.

Here is the text from the theme.properties file,

"The following two properties are included here in case a custom theme changes
them, so that the default theme will reset them when the default theme is loaded.
However, note that these values really shouldn't be changed. If you do change
them, be aware that:
a) The values are not read dynamically by SageTV, so if they are changed,
SageTV must be restarted for the changes to take effect.
b) The prefix path is in relation to the location of sagetv.exe, not the STV"

We set the following for the Diamond theme,

"SetPropertyValue/ui/wait_icon_prefix=STVs/SageTV7/Themes/Diamond/tvicon_anim"

I know that if I am testing and install the Diamond UI Mod on a client the new animated wait icon does not show until the client is restarted.

Hope this helps.

Thanks J. I will restart the server later. I have restarted it several times since I originally installed Diamond 3.2, but have not restarted it since I reinstalled it. This issue isn't going to keep me up at night. Thanks for the hard work on this great plugin!

Just checked my theme.properties file and every thing looks fine. Also, the image is in the correct place and appears as expected on Placeshifter connections. Strange. The only thing that I did notice in the "Diamond" theme folder were a bunch of repeat files with a ".218" tacked on the end. Not sure if this is normal or not.

I think those files you are seeing are due to the new plugin install method using the repository, old files are not over written they are given a new extension.

Official response from Opus,

Doesn't look like this will work anymore with HD300.

Huh, that's strange and a bummer. Were you able to duplicate this on your hd300? Thanks for tracking it down for me. Seems a shame that this upgrade would kill functionality to customize gui elements. Not a super big deal, though.

If this is a know limitation with new firmware, I wonder why this isn't happening to you with the same setup (hardware/firmware/software) as me. Weird.
