I don't think Sage is the blame. I've just finished building my first Sage Server and Client this past couple weeks with install of v2 and recorder on main Client. Server has 4 PVR250s, Client has 1 PVR250 in network mode. Been recording all kinds of stuff both via favorites and direct selections all ok.

No sound has got to be your config.

BTW, First runs & reruns mode means record 'em all in my understanding. If you don't want reruns select first runs only.

Tested from Client recording 5 simultaneously and playing back previously recorded flawlessly. Also tested recording 4 and view live timeshifted no problems. Client also installed on my wife's PC no problems.

You'll likely need to be more specific on your hardware and software configuration and specific symptoms and problems to get good help.

I figured why its freezing up, its the damn interface, seems like scroll wheel was linked to the channel up/down, so when i'm task switching, between programs I sometimes swing the scroll wheel, which then crashes it. Same when I'm watching a recorded video. ANways to disable that? Gah, I like the old interface better (less resources), but the new overlay and 3d accelleration is kewl.

Yes I know I wanted to record both first run and reruns from those time sagetv took a $h1t in recording, i deleleted it because of recording error, then again it was the captures card fault.

I don't know what happened but my settings seems to be messeded up...err I guess my upgrade wan't successfull.

My hardware:

-AND XP 2600+
-512 Meg ram
-120 gig Dedicated harddrive for PVR (even on its own controller).
-Two wintv 250 card, old and 16-version.
-Sage TV 2.0
-ati 9200 128 meg videocard

I use the wintv 250 startup trick to get both cards working. I will by a new card bundled with the software next month to replace the old card.

I multy task allot, so if someone can tell me how to optimize sagetv please let me know. Seems like the menus don't respond as much as they used to.

My logitech mouse/keyboard has a utility to change how the scroll wheels are setup. I'd have to check what mine is set to but... my mouse scroll wheel just moves the SageTV focus up and down, no issues.

The "Recording Error" setting tells Sage that the show was not recorded properly and to not count it. Meaning it will not consider it ever to have been recorded. So if the show/episode comes on again Sage will record it. Have you tried Malore's custom STV? His has this cool feature where you can see every show Sage has ever recorded and then change their settings. Like marking them not "watched", "like", "Don't Like", etc It's really cool, it's like being able to go back in time and reteach Sage. MLBDude's has some really great feature additions to the library and beyond.

One thing to try is renaming or moving your "sage.properties" and "sage.properties.autobackup" files*. This will cause SageTV to build new properties files. If something in your old properties file was causing an issue this should fix it. Note:You'll have to go thru the setup wizard again**. However if after doing this SageTV2 is working fine, you can slowly add back in the custum settings from your old sage.properties file using notepad and copy/paste.

* I would also backup your wiz.bin and wiz.bak files. Since when you restart Sage(without the properties files) it may not be able to find your recordings(depending on your setup) and clean up you wiz files. By backing up these files in a different location, you can copying these over the existing Wiz files in needed. As always any changes to sage.properties and wiz overwriting must be done with SageTV closed, not just sleeping.

**Unless you know enough to properly patch(with some info from your backup) your newly created properties file before restarting SageTV.

Best of luck

Thats why i'm ording another bundle next month :-), I'm gonna either ebay the old card or give it to my cousin with the bundled sagetv software. To bad I can't exchange Bundled 250 card + sagetv client, thats what I need.

Anyways, thanks. I like the UI patch( Malore's custom STV). Say, any info about sagetv properties, I'd like todo some tweaking/persionalization, and skinning to :-).

As for minor, but anoying crashes, I usualy get when I watch like several shows in one channel (not recorded->recorded->not recorded)....It crashes when i jump to the main menu, next time i post a screenshot.

This link is for Frey's official Doc on the sage.properties file. There are lots of fun settings there like changing FF1,FF2,RW1,RW2,Timescroll amount etc. However in order to do things like in the customizations forum, you'll need the Sage Studio. It's still only available to a chosen few right now. See Narflex's post in the Customization forum.

Good luck with your new card. I know my PVR250(15) works fine with my AverMedia M150(16) so you should be fine.
