HD100 Diamond Performance

I'm using a HD100 and the Diamond Flow views are really slow. They take about 10 seconds to open up and I can barely scroll through some of them. I'm wondering if it is something with my setup or if the Diamond views are just too much for the HD100.

Is anyone else using a HD100? How is the performance?

Same here. Tried it on a pair of HD100's. UI Navigation seems to be OK .. until you have content running in the background. Then is slows down something painful.

It should be similiar to the speed of smm if not let me know. I don't have any hd100's or 200's so I can't comment.

I am having the same problems with my HD100s. I love Diamond installed directly on my server and running in there. However, the HD100s just don't seem to have enough oomph to make it useful. I have turned off all the BG fanart, but I still hit a button and have to wait 10 seconds or so for anything to happen. It is even worse when it tries to draw a poster view to the screen and make a reflection image. Quite often I select a show to play and I start hearing the audio 20 seconds before I see the video appear.

There doesn't seem to be a minimalist version of Diamond that makes it usable over the HD100s from what I have found. If anyone finds a combination of settings, please post here. Is it possible to have my server using Diamond, but have the extenders set to the standard UI? Selecting the standard view under diamond still is too slow, so it has the be the real thing.

Also, if someone isn't having any issues with their HD100 running diamond, please post that so I can see if I have other network issues. How does this run under an HD300? Is this the reason to upgrade that I have been looking for?

Plucky - I do have an extra HD100 if you care to test for yourself and see if it is worth a minimalist version for it....

I have to concur with Plucky, I had the same exact server setup (Dell P4 3.2GHz, single-core, 1G RAM) with Linux. I moved to i3 with 4GB RAM and the same exact software and saw dramatic improvement of performance of my HD100. This was months ago so no Diamon involved.

*DOH* I actually upgraded my server a few months back and forgot to update my signature. I have upgraded that now. I saw a nice performance increase when I did this, and it has been working just fine. I think I have enough server power now, as I have a dual processor with each being dual-core 3.0GHz and plenty of ram.

Again, Diamond is beautiful on my server. The HD100s just can't seem to keep up. Does it make sense that my server has enough oomph to render them locally, but bogs down when trying to render for the HD100?

All the views are pretty slow. Even getting through the menus to get to a view seems to be painful. Just trying to look through my recorded TV list and select a show. It is almost like it just gets too bogged down trying to render something and won't process the next event until it is finished. I might hit "down" 5 times and it just sits there for 30 seconds until it finishes rendering an image, and then it will process the 5 down requests all at once.

I also have a HD200 that I tried out with diamond today. It is much smoother than the HD100 so I don't think it is anything with my setup. Diamond might just be too much for the HD100 to handle.

That's a bummer. The previous version was running pretty well on my HD-100 in the family room.

My HD100 was also painfully slow, but I think I have helped it a little.

I un-installed Twiedertweaks, My TV by Bialio and hide exit on main menu by Bialio. Of course, I uninstalled all 3 at the same time rather than being scientific. But my HD100 seems to be noticeably faster. I did read in another thread that twiedertweaks has issues with the 7.1.2 beta, so that may be the culprit for me.

The HD100 is still noticeably slower than my HD200, but I can live with it's current condition.

HD100 is very slow with Diamond, actually the latest plugin with 7.1.7 causes my HD100 to dump hard. It hard crashes the HD100 while watching video after 10-15 minutes. Once this happens the only thing that fixes the HD100 is a hard power reset with the toggle switch.

I have 1000+ DVDs and the video browsing does not work... it must have something to do with all of the fan art / first frames that need to be displayed.
