Adaptec Videoh PCI remote use possible?
Hi all,
Any way to use the remote from my Adaptec Videoh PCI package with Sage TV? I tried the "Link to" and pressing the corresponding buttons but nothing happens. Thanks... |

To my knowledge SageTV does not natively support the IR sensor part of the Videoh. You'd either need a device like the USB-UIRT that Sage can use to recieve* the infrared signals from your remote/remotes. Or maybe your Videoh's remote sensor is supported by Girder. Then you could have Girder recieve the IR siganals and then control SageTV from the girder group for SageTV. Personally I went the USB-UIRT route since I didn't want to learn/use Girder. I also have a digital cable box, so I can use SageTV and the USB-UIRT to control my cable box by Infrared. This way I can use the Coax(Cable) input of my PVR card for analog channels and still be able to occasionally record digital channels by my cable box's RCA AV outputs connected to my PVR card's RCA AV inputs. With just one card I can only record from one source at a time, but still this setup allows me to get some use out of my digital box. I'm not sure if a Videoh could be used in the same manner(I have a PVR250), but this gives you some idea of what you can do with a IR blaster/reciever. *The USB-UIRT can also transmit IR.

Thanks for the info. I wish I'd found Sage TV before plunking down $150 on the Videoh. I've already had to find alternatives to the crummy bundled software for everything else. It looks like the streamzap remote might do the trick.
Thanks again... |
