Unfortunately, I can't help with mymovies... I've never installed it

So say I could realy care less about mymovies. All I want is metadata to work in Sagetv. I am find with BMT but it never finds metadata for my rips. I must be doing something wrong because about 90% of my rips show missing metadata and do not show up in Sage.

Is there a preferred way to rip movies and name them for bmt to work correctly. Currently I am ripping to VOB folder structure and putting in the in folders on my unraid server.

I think the bmt user guide does talk about this the preferred filename formats. But if you are using vob folders then try naming the folders to something like...

"Movie Name (Year)"

/Vidoes/DVDs/Terminator 4 (2010)/*.vob or
/Vidoes/DVDs/Terminator 4 (2010)/VIDEO_TS/*.vob

now if you are not seeing the files show up in sagetv, then that's another issue altogether.

Typically try this...
Rip a DVD to to your Import area. Then using the bmt web ui, click "Refresh", and this will tell sagetv to look for new media files. Wait a few seconds, then check SageTV to see if the movie shows up. if it's a DVD then check the DVDs view, or browse imports and look for it, etc.

If you have issues with SMM those need to go in that forum.

If you just want mymovies metadata in the default views make sure mymovies collection manager is set to output property files and reindex it so it does. Then reindex your files on sagetv and the mymovies data will be there.

I have set it to output the properties file. What is the reindexing?
