A bit stuck, and could use some help (sound/remote issues)
Hey all...
Just wanted to say a quick hello, and introduce myself to the forums. My name is Pete, and I'm from Long Island, NY. I've had the Hauppauge PVR 350 for a while now, but just recently decided to use it, in conjunction with Sage TV. I downloaded the trial today, and installed/configured it. I have two problems (so far), which I would be ever so grateful to receive help with. I am using the S-Vid/Audio output of the 350, and connecting that directly to my TV. 1. The Hauppauge remote is not allowing me to do a thing. I have new batteries, and have the IR program running. I have downloaded and run the registry entries. Upon install, I specified to configure Sage to use the Hauppauge remote. 2. Trying to stream video via the Sage TV Client. I get "There was a MPEG-2 Video Error in playback. Details: Failed rendering video stream ErrCode=0x80040218. I am not 100% sure which codecs to use in which place, which I admit could be my problem. Any and all help regarding this would be wonderful. I am almost there, I just need a bit more help to get me running 100%! Thank you all so much! Last edited by PeteyBoy23; 05-17-2004 at 09:46 PM. |

Restart IR.exe; load a blank file named "debug.txt" in Notepad.exe; make sure Notepad has focus; & press some buttons on the remote. Does anything show up in Notepad? Quote:

yes the software decoders you use will have to be registered or the hauppauge intervideo decoder if the pvr 350 is in the client
for the remote issue did you tell sage to configure itself for the hauppauge silver remote when installing? I had an issue where the remote would not respond in sage until I did a reinstall of it even after putting the correct entires into the remote.ini I still do not understand that one but you can uninstall it and just reinstall it and you will lose nothing in the configuration or video wise just do not delete the frey's folder just one other thing what are the specs of your server and client of SageTV include decoders(DVD programs installed like WinDVD or powerDVD) |

I will check out each and every item you both mentioned. I did have a question, however. If anyone has the irremote.ini file, would they mind posting it, or sending it to me? My email is walkerp AT walkerproconsulting DOT com.
Also, if anyone with a 350 has their "favorite" codecs/decoders, setttings, or whatever, I'd be happy to hear them. Thank you so very much, guys! Last edited by PeteyBoy23; 05-18-2004 at 09:27 AM. |

My sincere apologies. I somehow breezed over that part, but I will now be sure to READ it all! *smacks forehead* Thank you for posting to alert me to that, I really appreciate it!

Ok... Just a quick update. The new irremote.ini file is what seems to have done the trick. I can navigate just fine now. However, when I input a channel #, how do I tell it to go to that channel? I type the number, but nothing happens. Any ideas?
Also, the SageTV menu is larger than my TV, and I find I must scale it down. Other than that, I think I just need to tweak the quality, and I am good to go. I thank you all for your continuing help!! |

Press OK after you enter the channel numbers.
