Sage Can't Play Back Recording
This is a little weird. I'm recording (and attempting to watch) Glee right now. I'm running Sage v7.0.23 and an HD200 and HD300, and its recording on an HDHR.
The first 20 minutes went OK, but then Sage suddenly jumped back to almost the beginning of the recording. When I tried it skip forward it would just jump back to a fairly consistent, but somewhat random, location near the beginning. Then I tried to play it back on my HD300. It wouldn't work there either. It looks like Sage started playing it at the live location, but the timeline claimed it was 15 minutes into the recording. When I tried to skip forward or backward it just brought me back to where it initially started playing. Back on my HD200 its basically doing the same thing. One odd thing, any time I try to play the file on an extender, the CPU on the server freaks out. The SageTV service starts eating up a core on my CPU, and it continues to use that core until about 30 seconds after stopping playback on the extender. The file is still recording, but I'm able to play it back in VLC. This is the first time this has happened. Has anyone else noticed this? Its recording a bit longer. And I've saved some log files (which grow pretty rapidly whenever I try to play the recording back). Is there anything else I should do to document this issue as its happening? |

Well, after Glee stopped recording I restarted the SageTV service. Now Sage appears to play back the file OK without freaking out.
I still have the log files though. I don't really know what might have set Sage off though. I was watching the show almost live, which is pretty abnormal. ShowAnalyzer was also working on the file. The problems initially started just as a commercially started, which might just be a coincidence. Because of that, I tried killing the showanalyzer task and zeroing out the edl file as the recording was still going on. But that didn't seem to help. Has this ever happened to anyone else? |

I just tried open the file in VideoReDo. I get a message saying it can't open because there are non-continuous time stamps in the file. That's probably related to the problem I was having in Sage. Why/how would that happen?
The other weird thing I did was that the file started recording pretty early. I had it start 10 minutes early, and originally I was going to have it end 45 minutes late (I cut it off early). I think that's the first time I ever recorded something with more than a few minutes of padding. VideoReDo quick sync reported 23 audio frame errors, 1 video resync frame removed, and 1 audio resync frame removed (if that means anything to anyone).
