delete the frey's folder pull out anything you want to save first
install 2.0 and put everything back in the frey's folder

it may be that the wiz bin or bak maybe be bad so replace these one at a time restarting sage each time (not just sleeping it) and do the same for the the properties file and its backup

you may want to launch i once after installing it though
to have these files created(they are not there until it is launch at least once)
and then replace them one at a time
you may even want to just start clean or save the files you will be replacing in another folder incase something goes wrong

make sure you update to the newest java
you will have to uninstall the old one first

Do you mean that it is failing before the installation is even complete? Perhaps the downloaded file is corrupted somehow -- try downloading it again.

Also, as kny3twalker suggests -- if you haven't updated your Java runtime lately, be sure to uninstall it & install the latest version before running v2.

I have downloaded the file 3 different times on the off chance it was corrupted in the download process.

I have uninstalled the 1.4 and deleted the frey directories. I am not concerend with having to reconfigure, but I did save the config files before uninstalling and deleting.

Regargless of the procedures I try, I keep getting the error dialog window which occurs before files are extracted or copied from the 2.10 exe file.

If you right click on SageTV_V2_0_19Setup.exe & select properties, what size does it list? Mine says 10,342,912 bytes. _IF_ yours doesn't match, I have found in the past that sometimes I have to mark a site as a "trusted site" in IE before a file gets downloaded correctly. Beyond that & the 'normal' Windows suggestion to make sure nothing is running, including antivirus for this install, I'm not sure why the install would fail like that.

yeah it does not matter how many times you download it
you should go to my computer to your harddrive with the OS on it(probably C
to documents and settings to the name of your computer(probably your name)
to local settings to temporary internet files and delete them all

then try to download again

It agrees with your file size, but I went ahead and deleted it and tried the other suggestions of setting the site to trusted and deleting all temp files. Still doesn't want to run.

Thank you all who have posted replies trying to determine what might be happening.

What exactly is the "configure PVR350" option? (I don't have a 350.) Have you tried not selecting that one?

Yea, I tried it without that option selected. That's for the hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 adapter with video out. An extremely nice card, I might add.

All of my version 1.4 install is really great. I was just hopeing to go to the OSD of version 2.

you have tried a reinstall of java correct?

the next step maybe to try to reinstall the pvr 350

if you are using a computer as a stand alone Sagebox you may just wish to reinstall windows or use a ghost copy if have one rather than to fight with any longer

trust me I always hate to say that but sometimes it is easier

I would definitely email frey and let them know of your problem
