Fanart downloaded for new movies only

I recently installed the diamond plugin which also installed Phoenix core services.

I have fanart downloading enabled, but only a fraction of my movies actually have fanart (less than 1%) that is shown/downloaded. Is there a setting in phoenix to force a full system rescan to get fanart for all my movies. Thanks

You'll want to install Batch Metadata Tools (check my signature) and then use the Web UI to do a full scan of your media. I'd suggest reading the About and User guides before jumping right in there

I doubt Diamond has built in support for running scans, but it certainly could I'd be happy to help them with the APIs that are required to initiate a scan.

I hate it when I find an answer 15 minutes after I post...I just installed BMT tools and did a rescan with the Web UI (cool). I can see now that as the scan progesses fanart is actively being downloaded. Thanks to the software authors....

Awesome support....Thanks a bunch.....did exactly as you said and it is currently working. Early this evening I had tried to install BMT tools but was getting a 503 error. Searched the forums and did a manual restart of the Sage server via my WHS console. After which, I got to your nifty UI and the rest is in progress. Great support here

Just keep in mind that BMT does its best, but it can't find everything, so once the scan is complete you may need to edit a few (or more) manually.

The initial success rate with BMT was quite high. Most of the problems I had were when I cheated on the naming of the movie (e.g. transformers 2 instead of transformers: revenge of the fallen. I really like the fact that you can choose which cover and fanart you want set by default. I also like that fact that it is UI based, since I'm primarily an Apple user.

The software so far appears to be very elegant. I still need to use it some more, but for my setup it appears to be a winner. I think this is going to end my experiment with "My Movies."
