Can't get rid of this error message
Keep getting this randomly, anyone else?
"There was a capture error in playback: Details: ERROR (-3,0x80070020) there was a problem accessing the filesystem for capture." Did not change anything at all, except had a few windows 7 updates a week ago. |

That means it's unable to write to the recording drive. Either your disk is full, or is about to fail, or there's some problem with permissions that's preventing it from accessing the drive.

I've been getting this for a 3 weeks or so.
Its on my main mirrored SATA hard drives rather than USB storage. Get the message about 2-3 times a week now (I also find that the first minute or so from some recordings is missing) Really hoping it is a SageTV issue as the hard drives are less than a year old. If it's not a full disk or failing disk, are you guys using power management to let your recording drives spin down? It's possible the drives aren't spinning up fast enough and causing a timeout error which will cause SageTV to fail when setting up the new recording file. This may show up in the Windows Event Log (System logs) as some kind of disk or controller error. If the drive isn't online and ready, SageTV will try again after a minute. On the retry, if the hard drive is fully spun up and online, the recording will be restarted with the first minute missing.

I had never noticed this before - I wonder if a windows update has changed the default power management settings. Seems my drives were set to spin down after 20 minutes. Have set to zero (never) for a bit and will see if I get any more. Michael |
