How to turn off Mouse Wheel in SageTV
Any way I can turn off the mouse wheel channel changing in SageTV.
It often results in changing the channel when I dont want to.... |

I don't think this is an option you can control with SageTV. The problem is that you've got the mouse wheel linked to Page Up/Down and I don't know if SageTV can distinguish between the keyboard command and the mouse command.
If you don't need to use the keyboard commands, then just "unlink' them in Detailed Setup > Commands and then the problem will be solved.

Didnt work?
I unlinked the PageUP and PageDN keys but the mouse wheel still changed channels. Then I exited SAgeTV and restarted it and PageUP and PageDN were changing channels again? |

Bump!
Anyone have a solution for this?
It's frustrating to change channels accidentally with the scroll mouse. Where are the keyboard/mouse commands stored? Isn't there an .ini file we can tweak? - ben

I have the same problem. It's a very annoying "feature" and it would be great if it could be fixed.

The problem is not simply Page Up/Down as Dan mentioned. It's also Scroll Up/Down.
Since most people do want that for web page browsing it would be rather difficult to remove it from SageTV for those that want to use a mouse with it also. Maybe the could rig some option in the properties file to allow turning off the mouse features altogether? I'm not sure if that is possible though. Dan? Jeff? |

Does the Intellimouse software (or the software that comes with other mice) allow you to define the wheel/buttons per app? I just always use the Windows built-in support & ignore the customization software. But, if that software could do that, you could redefine what a wheel roll does. Otherwise, I don't believe there is a way currently to turn off the wheel effect for SageTV.

side note
I've had this weird problem with SageTV changing channels while scrolling thru web pages when using the StreamZap remote software.
My SageTV is set to run on the secondary vid card out to a TV, yet every once in a while when I'm scrolling thru a web page on my monitor (primary vid out) it would change channels on SageTV even though the browser window was clearly the active window. I had not had that problem with the Hauppauge remote software after changing it to use the sendmessage app for focus issues. Later, Hauppauge and a similar functionallity within their own irremote.ini and driver. However, even with that I've noticed that if SageTV changes to sleep mode the focus seems to change back to it and there still seems to be some "unpredictable" things that may happen if that happens in the middle of scrolling thru a web page. So, there's still something from the mouse scrolling that leaks over into SageTV. Would be nice if there were an option to TOTALLY disable all mouse input into SageTV for those of us that don't need it. |

Or use this workaround: MS powertoy Tweakui's "xmouse" setting -- the window or app that has the mouse pointer is always the active window.

My viewpoint has always been the fewer things loading when Windows starts the better, so adding something else to load at boot to control something else that shouldn't be... well, ya can see what I mean. In my case, the mouse problem isn't a big problem (since I know what is happening if/when it does). TNX for the tip though - I hadn't thought about using TweakUI that way and it might be useful for others. |

While the tweakui suggestion is good, I also don't like the idea of a global change just to prevent the mouse wheel from changing channels in Sage (and the client). It should be an option or a property:
"MouseWheelChannelChange = true" (or "=false") that's handled by the software. |

please make this an option in future versions as it is highly annoying.
