If only it ran on Windows. No MACs in this house. Seems I'll have to pay another $15 for the Hauppauge 1212.

but there are major diff in the two
Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR has
Component video output
Optical audio input (AC-3 audio encoding) and output
But you do have purchase 3rdparty software like EyeTV 3 for $79.95 or HDPVRCapture $29.95 for it work on mac.
I would not be at sriprize if it is base on Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR but had been redesign.

You do not have to buy EyeTV software, it's included.

Hauppauge 1212 HD PVR dose not come with EyeTV software

I never new this existed until now.

The one thing they did right over haupaugge(even though I suspect this is built by haupaugge) is they didn't have passthrough or the inputs on the front making the overall footprint smaller. To me the passthrough and inputs on the front of the hdpvr are pointless.

I couldn't agree more with you on that one PLUCKYHD but min console gamer will need live output in order play and record
