My HDHRs suddenly aren't seen
I have 3 HDHR tuners (1 single, 1 dual) that have been humming along fine with Sage. I haven't made any changes over the last couple weeks, but yesterday suddenly I started getting errors that it could no longer detect them. If I use the HDHR software I can see all the channels, watch TV, etc; Sage refuses to see it though. What on earth could have happened? It's killing my ability to record since I lost 3 out of 4 tuners!
I should add I've rebooted, restarted the service, restarted the HDHRs... Last edited by madpoet; 12-08-2010 at 08:04 AM. |

Are you getting "No Signal" when it tries to use one of the three tuners? If so, I saw that about a month ago. What I had to do to get them to work again, is rescan the channels in the HDHR App, save the config, then remove and re-add the tuners in SageTV and rescan the channels again.

Yeah, thanks. I'll give it a try again tonight. You'd think the HD PVR would be the problem child, but that thing has been rock solid

You might want to check and make sure there are no IP conflicts on your network.

Good point... I'll have to take a look at that too. I haven't added any devices recently but DHCP can be a funny thing.

An IP address conflict doesn't fit the symptoms. If the HDHomeRun software can see it and use it, the network side is fine. The problem is more likely in the SageTV configuration or the Windows BDA system. Try going into the Advanced tab in HDHomeRun Setup and clicking the Repair button. This will re-register the Windows BDA components, and re-register the HDHomeRun tuners with BDA. Then, try removing the tuners from SageTV and setting them up again, making sure to run a channel scan on each.

I'll try the repair, thanks. I did remove them, rescan the channels, and try to re-add but it failed to add them. Said there was a driver issue.

So back again... finally had time to work on this but no joy. I repaired, same error. I removed and reinstalled, still the same error. Looking like I need a problem ticket. I am not sure what else to try at this point.
